Interests
Continually expanding my own artistic abilities in all mediums Empowering students by providing positive mentorship and gentle leadership Introducing students to the significance Studio habits of mind for their own lives (Hetland, Winner, Veenema & Sheridan, 2013, p. 5) Promoting the understanding and significance that art education is not a luxury(Hetland, Winner, Veenema & Sheridan, 2013, p. 1)

Experience
I have taught a very wide range of students from age 85 through Kindergarten. Each age holds challenges and I find that refreshing. I have done pro bono work in my studio, offering free glass blowing, fusing classes and stained glass classes to students who could not afford to pay, for many years. I have worked as a professional glass artist since I built my own studio in 1992. While my professional workload decreased during my years at the university, I found time to add on a hot shop to my studio, and I built most of the equipment (glory hole, lear, pipe warmer) myself. In spite of long hours at the university, I have continued to engage in professional work on the side, up to and including this present time.

I have offered my services to many local schools and most have accepted my offer to teach their art students. I usually conduct one or two week units in lampworking, stained glass construction, and mosaics. I have entered my work in the ARTS IN THE PARK Art Festival and took first place in the Fine Arts category. My work is showcased in the gift gallery, Images, in a city near my home. I also have my own gift gallery attached to my Studio, hot shop, and classroom facility.
