1. What are the eligibility conditions for
obtaining the extract of the land records?

The applicant should be the owner
of the land/manai either by way of
purchase /partition /release deed/
will deed either by reason of death
of any person or by reason of
transfer of interest or by way of
any other subsequent change in
the holding.

2. What are the documents to be attached
with the application for transfer of patta
issued under Kudiyiruppu Act?

Documents to be produced for
Transfer of Kudiyiruppau Patta.
a) Death Certificate of Kudiyiruppu
Patta Holder.
b) Original Kudiyiruppu Patta and
Legal Heir Certificate.

3. How to apply for a separate patta
involving sub-division of the field?
The land owners or legal heirs
acquiring the property are eligible
to apply for a separate patta after
demarcating and sub-dividing the
field. The following documents
should be adduced :

Copy of the sale deed and other
documents showing the
ownership right, legal heir
certificate and related link
documents.
4. How to apply for demarcation of field and
what are the documents to be produced?

Application addressed to the
Director of Survey and Land
Records in case of Pondicherry
and Oulgaret Taluk and in other
cases to Tahsildar / Deputy
Tahsildar with Re.0.75 paise
Court Fee Stamp affixed. The
following supporting documents
should be furnished along with the

application.

(a) Registered sale deed
(b) Patta copy of the property
(c) Layout copy
(d) Judgement copy, if any.

Rs. 5/- will be collected per F
line as measurement charge.

5. What are the documents to be produced
for getting certified FMB copies?
Photostat copy of the registered
documents showing the
ownership right. Rs.5/- will be
collected for each sub-division.
6. What are the procedures involved in
obtaining Revenue Village maps?
The Printed / photocopy of
Revenue Village maps are issued
to Government departments/
Public on payment of prescribed
fee. Rs.60/- will be collected from
the public for each village map
and Rs.40/- will be charged from
Government departments.
7. What are the procedures being followed
in issuing a Regional maps?

Region/ Taluk/ Sub-Taluks
Maps: Maps showing the
Administrative boundaries such as
Taluks, Sub-Taluks, Revenue
villages with details like Village
sites, Water bodies like Tanks,
Irrigation channels ), anicut,
Major/ Minor roads, Temples,
Electric transmission lines,
Telegraph lines, Railway lines etc.
The scale of the maps will be in
1 : 50000, 1 : 25000 & 1 :
40000.

8. How to get a free house site patta under
Land Grant Rules?
For getting Free House Site Patta,
the applicant - should

1. be a poor landless labourer
2. be an Indian Citizen with the
residence of not less than 5 years
in the Union Territory of
Pondicherry.
3. have a monthly income not
exceeding Rs.2000/- per month.
4. not have a house of his own.

The applicant should address to
the Director of Survey and Land
Records for Pondicherry region
and for the outlying regions viz.
Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam the
concerned Deputy Collector
(Revenue) shall be addressed.
The application should bear a
Court Fee Stamp of 0.75 paise.

9. How to acquire a market value house site
patta?

If a person earns a monthly
income of more than Rs.2000/- or
constructed a house with RCC
roofing is assigned on remittance
of market value of the concerned
site subject to the clearance of the
department having control over
the land.
10. What are the documents to be produced
for name transfer of free house patta
issued under LGR?
Documents to be adduced for
getting patta transferred:

1. Copy of the original patta.
2. Death Certificate of the original
assignee.
3. Birth Certificate of the petitioner
4. No Objection Certificate
obtained other legal heirs, in case
the petitioner is one among the
legal heirs of the deceased
pattadhar.
5. Affidavit obtained from the

Notary Public, in case the
pattadar himself relinquishes
his/her right over the property and
willing to donate the same in
favour of the petitioner.
First page of the Ration Card and
EPIC are to be enclosed as a
mark of residential proof.
11. How to apply for the duplicate copy of the
free house site patta assigned under
LGR?
Any person who has lost his
original patta copy, can apply for a
duplicate copy of patta in writing
addressed to the Director of
Survey and Land Records,
Pondicherry. The applicant
should affix a court fee stamp of
Re.0.75 on the application. In
case of loss, he should produce
the Non-traceable certificate
issued by the Police Officer
having jurisdiction and in case of
mutilation, he should surrender
the mutilated copy of the patta.
He should also produce the proof
for his continuous residence over
the site. In case, the patta copy
has reported to be damaged due
to fire accident, the applicant
should produce the fire certificate
issued by the Fire Officer having
jurisdiction.
