My Organization and Department (three pages)

Introduction: By health care one means that the diagnosis of the health problems, treatment, and further prevention of the diseases. Other physical and mental injuries and ailments are also entertained in health care. Health care is administered, governed and delivered by the practitioners. There has been seen a change in the global health care as there has been technological advancements as well as people are more curious about their health than before. There are new treatments, new regulations, new methods and innovation in organizational structure and working for the better and efficient working of the health care the practitioners must be able to evaluate and understand the effect of the changing care-delivery models. The organizational structure of a health care refers to the levels of management within the health care department. These levels focus on the working on the management of the organization as well as allow the efficient management of the organizational departments. In the health care departments the organizational structure varies from department to department. The larger the organization, more complex the structure of the organization. Similarly the smaller organizations are relatively simple and in a better position to be run efficiently.the organization has different groups and for the efficiency and competency of the organization the documents are grouped to promote the efficiency of the facility. Similar working departments are grouped together for mutual correspondence. There are the following common groups in a health care departmental organization. 1. Administrative services 2. Informational services

3. Therapeutic services 4. Diagnostic services 5. Support services 1: Administrative services: The administrative services are meant for the better administration of the health care organization. This includes the executives, departmental heads and the business people who run the organization. They also oversee the budgeting and finance of the organization along with formulating policies for the organization. 2: Informational services: The informational services in the health care organization are for documentation and processing the information. Like the admission in the health care or billing and collection. This also includes the health education and human resource. 3: Therapeutic services: The therapeutic services in the health care is for the provision of the treatment to the patients. 5: Support services: The support services in the health care organization include medical equipments, housekeeping along with maintenance and dietary plans of the organizational demands.

Complex adaptive system is the art of the converting a health care organization into an efficient organization. A complex adaptive system is composed of people attached to the organization and the activities that mutually influence each other. This influence can be complex bearing unpredictable outcomes. The elements of the system come up when there is mutual correspondence between the people working in the organization and their activities. The integration of the entities is more efficient if they are allowed to emerge rather than be merged. The contingency theory describes that the selection of the most appropriate form of organization is dependant upon the particular circumstances of the environment in which the organization operates. The contingency theory does not advocate an either-or approach but rather views the process as a continuum from mechanistic form to organizational form. Contingency theory proposes that there is no method to better organize the work but structuring the organization and managing it depends only on able work, conducive environment and doable strategy. The institutional theory states that the organizations are those in which the organisms adapt to pressure either from within or from outside. In the health care organization if the organization takes the pressure and after feeling it puts an immense effort to come out of the pressure. The organization always emphasizes on the abilities of the organization rather than looking outside.the management always depends on the abilities of the organization to secure needed resources from the sources of the organization for its own survival.this is termed as a resource dependence theory in the organization.

II. Transforming My Organization into a Deming Organization (five pages)

The health care organization always prospers with the help of the organizational public as well as the values provided by the organization to the customers or patients. The organization having all the pillars intact comes up to the expectation of the people and the public. But for the transformation of the organization into a more refined organization or one can say into a Deming organization, there are certain steps and rules which ought to be followed for the better functioning of the organization. Firstly the organization shall have to create constancy and firmness of purpose for gradual and continual improvement of product and services. This is what the Deming organization adheres to. Once the organization has become steady in the business of purpose and has stood up on stern footings then it shall have to maintain a gradual and persistent enhancement in the perfection of the services it has been providing as well as the products the organization has been claiming for. The steady maintenance of the services and the products make the company grow in the right direction. If the organization adopts this step of constancy and continuity, it can make the organization prosper in the right direction. Secondly, for the transformation of the organization into a progressive organization or on the model of Deming organization, it must adopt the new philosophy for economic stability. Economy is always the backbone of any organization. If the organization is in lapse and it has not been able to overcome the lapse of the economy, then the organization shall do something to be stable for survival. The organization should adopt some new philosophy for the economic stability of the organization. The organization apportions resources, maintains an employment level according to the economy of the organization, reviews and administers monetary risks. The organization is stable when it disperses economic unevenness which has produced within an organism. If the organization adheres to the principle set by Deming of economic stability, then the organization would be in a better position to sustain amongst the other organizations.

In the health care organization, there should be always inspection and quality control. This will improve the overall process of the health care organization. According to Deming, 100% inspection of the organizational work is the same thing as planning for the facts that the function can not work properly. The inspection is never meant for the good things. It is always bad things oriented. Rather than overall inspection, only the inspection of the defects in the health care organization can give some feedback as well as gradual improvement. the organization should cease dependence on the inspection to achieve quality. In the health organization there is always some improvement room for the continuation as well as for the constancy of the products and the services. The management of the health care organization should always try to look for the problems and also find their solutions to improve the quality of the products and the services. The Deming organization always keeps this principle intact in order to maintain a gradual growth. Such constant and gradual improvement lead to more striving. And the organization can take the data analysis for predicting the solution to the problems. According to Deming's organization, education at all levels is the key to the progress of the organization. In the health care organization, education plays its role in the development of the organization. From the top leadership of the health care organization to the lowest paid employee, there should be education according to their nature of the duty of the organization. Such trainings can also help the organization in ensuring constancy. The employees can be sent to other organizations for training and the new employee should be given training and education before hand.

Deming is of the view that the Orthodox attitude and the environment of the organization should be replaced with a coherent and caring environment. The organizational public should be dealt with supervision and being overseen. The environment should be supportive, friendly, counselling and encouraging for all the public engaged in the organization. Similarly if the principle of Deming be put in the field care organization, the environment of the health care organization would definitely improve and there would be a surge in the functioning of the organization.

In the organization, especially in the health care organization, there should be a mutual communicational attitude. According to Deming, for the better functioning of the organization, the public of the organization should drive out all the fears. An environment of fear makes the management plans dim. There should be a conducive atmosphere between the management and the employees. In the health care organization, the mutual relationship between the patients and the doctors always facilitates the good will of the health care organization. In the organization there should be nothing like a quota. The organization should focus on quality rather than quantity. This is what which Deming has been pointing out. The production limit does not only mean that the allocated number of products or services be produced. But it also entails that the produced products should be qualitatively fine. Managing quantity rather than quality can not let the organization come out of sub standards products and services. Meeting quantitative goals is a short term thinking in terms of organizational requirements. In the organization the quality must be maintained and if the organization is producing quality products and services the employee should vent out his abilities and the qualities of his organization. Deming is of the view that the right to pride regarding the quality of the product is the birthright of the employee. Thus the organization should always listen to the employee's pride. In the health care organization, if the barriers are removed which rob the hourly worker of the right to pride in workmanship, then the organization is going in back drops. The health care organization, if adopted , then is on the right way to progress. Deming further discusses that the organization should keep pace with the changing trends. The organization shall have to be innovative to meet the needs and demands of the outer public and consumers. The management of the organization should encourage training developments and innovative techniques. In the health care organization, which is a social organization, without training and being innovative with the speed of the outer world, the organization cannot prosper. Deming views the organizations management to produce continual commitment for the improvement of the quality of the products and services with gradual pace. Deming says that the organization, if

committed to excellence shows steady improvement in the qualitative production of the organization. And thee health care organization if the quality and the productivity of the services is maintained at a rapid pace with the running time, the health care organization has the scope in higher definitions. According to Deming, in an organization there are always some bad practices which try to harm the organization. These bad practices are the deadly sins in the organization and should be removed at the furthest to put the organization on the growth track. He elaborates that the lack of constancy is a sin for the organization. He describes that the absence of steadiness in the organization is unpardonable. Without constancy the organization would be sinking on his own without the sailor commanding it. In a health care organization, if it is not constant in its objectives and achievements then the health care organization is not in a mood of progress. He further adds that the organization running after the short-term profits always loses to long-term constancy and hampers the growth of the organization in a better environment. The organization must go for the short-term profits but not at the cost of the quality or the constancy of long-term gains. Similarly Deming also considers that the environment of rivalry is sinful for the organization. There should be no performance evaluation as this produces challenges within the organization and the employees disrespect each other in the challenging environment and internal competition in the organization suppresses teamwork.
