Modeling Control Panel


Access reverse engineering application. On IRIX, this is EvalViewer; on Windows platforms, Spider. Drag icons from the control panels shelf to the trash with the middle mouse button to remove them from the shelf. This menu for Shelf Options has the following choices: New: Clear all tools from the shelf. New tab: Add a new tab to the shelf, under which you can add tools. Save: Saves the current shelf contents to a file. Replace: Replaces the current shelf contents with the contents contained in a file you choose. These enable you to create and change shelf files.

The name of the picked object. You can edit this field to change the name of the object.

Scroll bar Use the Cross Sections buttons to turn X, Y, and Z cross sections on (+) or off (-) for the picked surfaces. To control the cross sections, click the Control Panel > Evaluate > Cross section tool at the bottom of the control panel, then use the Cross Section options that appear in the control panel. Note: this tool is not available in all packages. Use the Curvature on sections buttons to turn curvature combs on the cross sections on or off. Choosing one of the bottom row of tools provides additional editable attributes above the tool. Move CV Show deviations

These icons give access to diagnostic shading capabilities, and the panel provides access to the most frequently modified options for these tools

Paint Control Panel


Paint shelf tabs. Click to open a list of color swatches, brushes, and tools. Use the scroll bar to scroll through a list, or move the divider up or down to enlarge or shrink the section. The name of the picked object. You can edit this field to change the name of the object. Scroll bar Tool or Brush properties. This menu has the following choices: New Library Tab Change Library Default Library The library location is defined in Preferences > General Preferences > VIsualization > Library location

Scroll bar

Shader library tabs. Click to open a list of shaders and environments. Use the scroll bar to scroll through a list, or move the divider Divider up or down to enlarge or shrink the section.

Double-click or drag-and-drop a shader ball in the library to add it to the list of resident shaders. Shaders listed in this section are the shaders in your scene. If you havent created any shaders, youll see the default environment and default shader balls only. Name of picked (active) object

Plane/Layer Editor

Click to type in a value from 0-1 for layer opacity. Or click and drag down from number box to open a slider to change opacity level.

Yellow highlighting indicates the active plane. Violet highlighting indicates the active layer. Click a layer to make it active. To change a layer name, double-click the name and type a new name.
