Final Project Overview
In this final project, compile conclusions from various financial statements to complete a report on the financial health of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. How a company invests and manages its assets (plant assets, stocks, and cash) tells much about its financial stability and prospects for the future. Analyzing financial trends and managements financial decisions also reveals valuable information about the company to investors and industry analysts. Throughout this course, you will complete five Beyond the Numbers (BTN) text questions related to the Krispy Kreme financial statements included in the text. As you complete these questions, you will want to keep notes to summarize your conclusions for the final paper due in Week Nine. Enter your notes and conclusions in Appendix B, Financial Health Matrix. Along side each component listed in the matrix, write a summary explaining what that component tells about the general health of the company. Finally, use your compiled information to write a report describing the financial health and prospects of the company. (You do not have to submit Appendix B.)

Final Project Timeline

You should budget your time wisely and work on your project throughout the course. As outlined below, some assignments in the course are designed to assist you in creating your final project. If you complete your course activities and use the feedback provided by the instructor, you will be on the right track to complete your project successfully. Suggested in Week One: Read the Final Project Overview and Timeline in Appendix A. Due in Week Two: Complete questions 1-4 of BTN 10-1 on p. 418 of Fundamental accounting principles as part of the assignment titled Accounting for Depreciation. You may want to use the section on Depreciation Analysis in Appendix B for your notes. Due in Week Four: Complete questions 1-7 of BTN 13-1 on p. 543 as part of the assignment titled Stocks and Earnings per Share. You may want to use the section on Company Stock Analysis in Appendix B for your notes. Due Week Six: Complete questions 1-4 of BTN 16-1 on p. 668 as part of the assignment titled Statement of Cash Flows. You may want to use the section on Cash Flow Statement Analysis in Appendix B for your notes. Due in Week Nine: o o Complete questions 1-3 of BTN 17-1 on p. 709. You may use the section on Income Statement Trend Analysis in Appendix B for your notes. Write a 1,050-to 1,750-word paper on the general financial health of Krispy Kreme based on the analyses conducted throughout this course. Refer to the syllabus for full details on the elements required for this assignment.
