The whimsically girlish decorating scheme comes courtesy of famed textile and wallpaper designer Anne Gelbard, whose distinctive fabrics are used in haute couture collections. Her influence can be seen all over the hotel, from the bright pink chairs to the moody purple light that illuminates Hotel La Belle Juliettes faade.

The hotels name honors famed French socialite Jeanne Francoise Julie Adlaide Bernard (known simply as Juliette,) who held well-regarded salons for over thirty years in the 1800s. The beautiful Juliette was the mistress of French writer, politician, diplomat, historian, and founder of French Romanticism Franois-Ren de Chateaubriand (who also coined the term Chateaubriand steak). Hotel La Belle Juliette makes good use of this fascinating material, exploring the torrid relationship between one of Frances original power couples in their third floor rooms. The first floor is dedicated to the close friendship between Juliette and Swiss author Madame de Stal, while the second pays tribute to Juliettes love of Italy. On the top floor, re-live the magic of Juliettes salons in a stunning suite fit for a queen (or a 19th century celebrity). Forgot your laptop? No worries, each lavishly appointed room comes equipped with a Mac.
