JOB SUMMARY To be the dedicated point of contact for all facilities management related matters to the XXX Youth & Community Centre and its external site and to ensure a good standard of customer service and care within the Centre. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Ensure the overall effective maintenance of the centre, including repairs, cyclical maintenance, supervising contractors and overseeing alarm system etc. 2. To oversee the cleaning contract and ensure cleaning and other supplies are in stock. 3. Ensure the building and external site is clean, safe and secure through regular health and safety checks, risk assessments etc. and ensuring building related policies and regulations are in place and implemented. 4. To support the development of an environmentally friendly centre facility 5. To be a first aider and fire marshall for the Centre 6. To undertake minor handiwork and repairs and regular clearing of the building gutters. 7. To manage storage space and equipment and proper use of equipment within the building and external site. 8. To work with the Administrator to ensure good standard of customer service in dealing with centre and pitch hire enquiries and regular hirers. 9. To ensure booking agreements are in place for all hirers and to liaise with hirers to ensure compliance with centre policies. 10. To work with the staff team to maximise the use the Centre and its facilities. 11. To work with the Administrator to ensure effective co-ordination of the bookings calendar and preparation of rooms and pitches for bookings 12. To lead on proactively promoting the Centre and its facilities 13. To work with the Administrator to oversee the reception area, ensuring effective cover and a welcoming environment is maintained 14. To be the caretaker for the Centre, being available to lock the building some weekday evenings. 15. Experience of organising or overseeing health and safety checks and risk assessments Understanding of the issues or working within a diverse community setting Knowledge of the policies and procedures required to effectively run a community centre Experience of minor repairs, handiwork or maintenance of building facilities. Understanding of the importance of good customer service Good interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work with a wide variety of people at all levels and as part of a team Able to work flexible hours and evenings Computer literate (or willingness to undertake training) Ability to plan and prioritise programmes of work Commitment to the Foundations values and vision Willingness to undertake work-related training
