Job Purpose: This is a key post within the Studio where the Artistic Co-ordinator will take the lead role in developing the creative direction of the Studio to increase cultural opportunities for the project, for current Studio users and for adults living within XXX experiencing mental health problems. The Artistic Co-ordinator will work closely with the Director to deliver the organisations objectives, build partnerships with both the arts and health and social care world and strengthen the organisations future. Key Duties Service Delivery: Work alongside current studio users giving practical support and guidance to develop their creativity and help them achieve their potential Create a supportive/non-institutionalised environment that will be attractive to potential new users and encourage referrals from Health and Social Care professionals Manage, supervise and allocate day to day use of space, materials and resources Take the lead role in generating new exhibition, project and other creative/cultural opportunities Co-ordinate delivery of all creative activities, projects and sessions Prepare promotional material and document activities Work alongside sessional, project and visiting artists Liaise with arts professionals/organisations and, where appropriate, funders

Oversee Health and Safety and good studio practice Monitor and maintain supplies of materials Work within set budgets Assist with induction processes, monitoring and feedback of individual progress Support and guide student placements and volunteers Assist with day to day running of the studio (opening/locking up, welcoming visitors)

Organisational Development: Liaise with the Director to plan the programme of activities, plan budgets, identify funding and prepare applications relevant to the programme Monitor and record progress and achievements of projects and activities providing evidence and feedback for grant reports. Attend board meetings and report on creative activities, opportunities and development Contribute to strategic development of the organisation Support Director and promote organisational policies and procedures Deputise for Director when necessary Undertake research/training as necessary Some evening/weekend work Other reasonable duties commensurate with the post

Artistic Co-ordinator: Person Specification Knowledge and experience Essential Relevant qualification to Degree level or higher, and evidence of own current practice. Experience of exhibition and project management from inception to delivery. Experience of working within a community arts environment. Experience of developing partnerships with professionals in other arts and/or mental health organisations. Knowledge / experience required to assist in ensuring the Studio complies with current Health & Safety standards. Experience in day to day management of a working studio environment, including organisation / allocation of space, use / monitoring / ordering materials. Commitment to equality of opportunity and diversity within a mental health setting. Qualifications in Health & Safety in the workplace & First Aid, or willing to undertake training. Desirable Previous fundraising experience. Skills Essential Excellent communication skills

Interpersonal skills that will encourage the creative development of studio users leading to growth in self-confidence and independence. Ability to work closely with the Director, and under own initiative, to deliver the organisations aims & objectives. Ability to co-ordinate sessional, project and visiting artists working within the Studio Creative and flexible approach to problem solving Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Basic IT skills.
