IMPORTANT NOTICE
To: All Mitsubishi Authorized Service Centers, Effective immediately, the PWB-MAIN for all 2009 products (see Table 1 below) is T/A Required (order must be approved by Technical Assistance), regardless of warranty status. It has been determined by our factory that a very high percentage (approx. 85%) of returned defective PWB-MAIN boards can be restored to normal operation by installing a software update, which is available on-line to the public at www.mitsubishi-tv.com, under the Support tab. If an ASC encounters a customer complaint such as dead, wont come on (boot-sequence related), or any other symptom that indicates a defective PWB-MAIN, please use the flow chart on the following page to determine the proper repair process. Any service performed on 2009 or newer products should include verification (and installation if necessary) of the most current version of software installed. All ASCs must inform the customer that a publicly available software update has a very high probability of quickly restoring their product to normal operation without the necessity of initiating a service call.

Notes: 1. The ASC must inform the customer that the customer can download and install a software update which has a very good chance of making their product operational without involving the ASC. 2. If the ASC performs the software update and it restores the product to normal operation, MDEA will pay a special labor rate of $50.00. 3. If the software update performed by the customer does NOT restore the product to normal operation, the ASC must verify that the software update was performed properly before contacting T/A for a board order. 4. If MDEA Parts receives a returned defective PWB-MAIN that can be restored to normal operation by a software update, the ASC may be subject to a $75.00 recycling fee.
