Hydraulic tightening tool for connecting rod

Engine type This Service Letter concerns only WRTSIL 32 engines with a serial number lower than 21682. It does not apply to WRTSIL Vasa 32 engines (also referred to as Vasa 32). Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to personnel! This service letter concerns hydraulic tightening tools (2V86B0214, Extended Part No. 800 020 001). The screws (Part No. 800 157) and the nuts (Part No. 800 158) of the hydraulic tightening tool must be replaced for safety reasons after a certain number of loading cycles, see recommendation below. One loading cycle means raising the pressure to the full stated pressure (800/820 bar). The screws and nuts must also be replaced if the maximum hydraulic pressure is ever exceeded for some reason. Note! If the maximum hydraulic pressure (loosening of screws) is exceeded the screws and nuts will be overloaded. A new design of the bolt and nut has been released.

Operating instruction Recommendation

Do not stand in front of the hydraulic tools when operating them. Replace the screws and nuts of the original design before reaching 250 loading cycles. The screws and nuts of the new design must be replaced before reaching 1000 loading cycles.
