Abstract
D-8 is one of the potential organizations for economic cooperation among 319 bilateral and multilateral commercial blogs. D-8, also known as Developing-8, is an organization for development cooperation among the following countries: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey. The objectives of D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation are to improve member states position in the global economy, diversify and create new opportunities in trade relations, enhance participation in decision-making at international level, and improve standards of living. Bangladesh is one of the developing countries among the member countries. It is an emerging economy in the world. Hence Bangladesh has large opportunities to create a stronger platform for giving a boost to trade and investment within the member countries. Its an opportunity to make business linkage and promote trade and investment. Itll help brand Bangladesh in the industrial sector. Bangladesh can attract investment, both in joint ventures and direct, and expand Bangladesh's export market to the member countries in different sectors, including readymade garments, automotive and cement, ICT, energy and environmental conservation, food industries and technology cooperation. At the same time Bangladesh would face some threats including geographical location, political instability, public sentiment etc. But none of them is a major barrier.
