4. DESIGN ASSUMPTIONS:
During the validation of SANATAN Plant layout, the following assumptions are made in order to simplify or
make the validation more conservative.
Design validation carried out at two stages. In first stage, the whole plant was modeled with equivalent 1Dimensional BEAM element with appropriate Cross-sectional properties. In Second stage, the sub-model of
plant is modeled with 2-Dimensional SHELL elements with appropriate thickness properties.
4.1.
- To be conservative the weakest section properties considered for modeling all components in SANTAN Plant
-Section properties calculated at C.G of the weakest section for each component
-Complete plant layout is modeled as three blocks and rested on uprights with fixed boundary condition [all
DOF constrained]
-Shoe is not considered during 1D element analysis [BEAM model]
-Live loads and Seismic loads distributed at the joint location of Upright and Box beams on which pallets are
mounted

5. DESIGN VALIDATION:
5.1.
Objective :
To validate the structural design proposed by Kirby after analysis of the same with live load and dead load
with seismic loads applied following the code book IS-1893.
The proposed structure was already in accordance with the EN 155512, EN 15620.
