Foreword
This owner's manual and the corresponding supplements should be read carefully to familiarise yourself with your vehicle. Also, the regular care and maintenance and correct handling of the vehicle will contribute to preserve its value. For safety reasons, note the information concerning accessories, modifications and parts exchange. If selling the vehicle, give all of the onboard documentation to the new owner as this should be kept with the vehicle.

General information
This manual contains important information, tips, suggestions and warnings on using your radio. The other publications in the vehicle wallet contain further information which you should be aware of for your own safety and for the safety of your passengers. Ensure that the onboard documentation is kept in the vehicle at all times. This is especially important when lending or selling the vehicle to another person. This manual contains a description of the equipment supplied with the vehicle at the time of going to press. Some of the equipment described here will not be available until a later date, or is available only in certain markets. The illustrations are intended as a general guide, and may vary from the equipment fitted in your vehicle in some details. Directions and positions (e.g. right, left, front, rear) are always relative to the direction of travel of the vehicle unless otherwise stated. The equipment marked with an asterisk* comes in series only in determined model versions, is optional in some models, or is only offered in specific countries. Registered trademarks are marked . However, the absence of this symbol does not constitute a waiver of the rights concerning any proprietary name. This shows that the section continues on the next page. This shows the end of the section.

Important Information. Traffic safety
Travelling on today's roads requires the driver's full attention at all times. Only operate the radio and its various functions when the traffic situation really permits this.
WARNING
Before starting the trip, you should familiarise yourself with the different radio functions. High volumes may present a danger to you and to others. Adjust the volume in a way that you can distinguish surrounding noise, for example, horns, sirens, etc.
Radio settings should be made when the car is stopped, or by a passenger.

Note
Separate the radio navigation card and keep it in a safe place, but never within the vehicle. If the radio is lost with the code, go to a SEAT Dealer, who will help you.

Convenience anti-theft code
The sound equipment automatically identifies its vehicle. If the electricity supply is interrupted, when the ignition is switched on again, the sound equipment automatically checks whether it can still identify its vehicle. Once the vehicle has been identified, the sound equipment is again ready for use after a few seconds. With the convenience code it is no longer necessary to manually unblock the sound equipment. However if the sound equipment is in another vehicle, it must be unblocked by entering the code. To obtain the code, contact an authorised SEAT dealer.
Important information concerning the handling of your radio equipment

Use when driving Travelling on today's roads requires the driver's full attention at all times. Modern radios offer many sophisticated features providing a variety of forms of entertainment and a range of information on traffic and road conditions etc. However, the radio, with all its possibilities, should only be used if conditions really allow it. For example, changing CDs or reading CD labels while driving has frequently led to dangerous situations. The radio volume should be set so that acoustic signals from outside can also be heard at all times.
Display on instrument panel

Information referring to the radio is also displayed on the instrument panel. The function is activated by pressing and holding the lower button of the rocker switch located at the end of the windscreen wiper lever and selecting the function Audio in the menu.

Please keep your attention on driving as a priority!
Soft-Clipping Function
The radio has an automatic volume reduction system to avoid distortion and possible damage to the radio and speakers.
Remember
The majority of the time, this adjustment is made when the volume indicator is not visible (normal screen for the selected source) and the change is not noticeable. Remember that if this protection is activated when the temporary volume indicator is visible, it will appear to be a reduction of the volume selected by the user.
Protection against overloading

In the event of high temperatures and/or large volumes, the protection circuit may react. During this phase, to discharge the amplifiers, the final stages of the speakers are disconnected.

Switching on and off: The radio will be switched on and off by simply pushing the rotary/push knob.
When the system is switched on, the last used audio source will be selected along with the last selected volume level, as long as this is not higher than the volume set in the ON-VOL page 13.

- Adjusting volume: turn the knob to the right to increase the volume and to the left to lower the volume.

AUDIO Menu
The settings are stored automatically. The unit will switch back to the original settings after 5 seconds if no alterations are made. The AUDIO menu can also be exited by pressing a function key or the multifunction key used for the last modified setting.
Sound setting memory

The pre-tuning keys 1....5 can be used to store sound settings (bass/mid/treb) and volume distribution settings (bal/fad). Settings and storing

Set the bass, mid, treble, balance and fader as described above. While still in one of the settings, hold down the pre-tuning button (1....5) where you wish to store these settings until the confirmation signal is heard. Sound 1 appears on the display (if you have selected button 1). The new settings are stored. Recall of stored values Press the SOUND button and then the pre-tuning button where the setting with the values you wish to recall is stored (for example 3). Sound 3 appears on the display. The stored values become the actual values. Recall of average values Press the SOUND key and then pretuning button number 6. Sound 6 appears on the display.
To select the desired setting, press the corresponding multifunction key. Use the search keys to start the adjustment of the sound settings: BASS (bass settings) / MID (mid-range settings) / TREB (treble settings). and the volume distribution: BAL (between right and left channels) / FAD (between front and rear channels).

When the multifunction key reset is pressed, all the sound settings return to central position (zero value).

PROG Function

To make handling easier, the radio has a PROG menu which allows you to programme a series of settings which are required only very occasionally. Settings 1. Activating the PROG menu Press the PROG button, program appears on the display with the different functions which can be selected from the programme menu. 2. Selecting the functions from the PROG menu Press the multifunction key corresponding to the desired function. This function appears on the display. The multifunction keys <,> allow you to change the display in order to view all the functions.
3. Changing the setting of the function After selecting the function, use the search keys to change the settings, except for the functions onvol, tlvol and tpvol which can be altered using the rotary knob. The new settings are shown on the display. 4. Activating the new setting After selecting the new setting, this is immediately updated. At this point we can reselect and set another function by repeating points 2 to 4, or: 5. Confirming settings

The unit will switch back to the original settings after 5 seconds if no alterations are made. It is also possible to exit the PROG menu by pressing any of the function keys.

Possible functions in the PROG menu

Display sequence: onvol, ign, beep, scv, tvol, <, >, and reg, AUX4) . Volume Limitation on switching on (ONVOL) When setting the selected volume is heard. Waveband limit: 6....15 onvol 12 Volume limited to 12 (for example). The volume is only limited when the car radio is switched on and the setting in the selection was higher when it was turned off. Control of volume according to speed (SCV) The SCV will automatically adjust the volume to suit the speed of the vehicle.

- FM1, FM2, AM1 or AM2: wavelength and corresponding memory level. - SCAN: Turn on/off SCAN function. - AS: Turns autostore function on. - MAN: Allows manual selection of stations. - LRN: Updates the LEARN memory, which is used for the automatic search (only in FM mode). - AF: Activates/deactivates the alternative frequencies (only in FM mode).

Search functions
Radio stations can be selected manually or an automatic search can be carried out. Automatic station search To automatically search for the next or previous station on the same wave6 . band, press or page 15 A The search only stops at stations with good quality reception. These are 5 . shown on the radio display A Manual station search - radio mode After selecting the desired waveband, press the MAN multifunction key; then, using the search keys , select the desired frequency. If these buttons are pressed briefly, the shift is in steps (of 9 KHz on AM and 100 kHz on FM) and if the buttons are held down, the frequencies change rapidly. In this way it is possible to tune into stations with a weak signal which can not be found using the automatic search function. SCAN function When the SCAN function is active, all stations with a good reception will be played for 10 seconds each. To select a station, stop the SCAN function whilst the required station is being played. You start and stop the SCAN function by briefly pressing the multifunction key 4 . SCAN page 15 A If the tuned station is already stored, the corresponding pre-tuning button number will be displayed.

Switching to traffic reports (TP function)*

The TP function is only valid for the European version.

When the TP (receive traffic reports) function is on, the car radio is able to receive traffic reports in any operating mode. The TP function can only be used on FM. If the radio is connected to AM, the TP function automatically switches off. Switching on the TP function When the TP key is pressed, the display reads: - TP: if the station selected broadcasts traffic reports. - (TP): if the station selected does not broadcast traffic reports. Traffic messages are reproduced at a set minimum volume. The minimum volume can be changed using the PROG menu. After the traffic message, the radio returns to the previously selected station at the previous volume. The playing of the CD or the CD6/Aux will be interrupted while the traffic messages are broadcast.
While a traffic report is being broadcast, you can adjust the volume using the main button. Switching off the TP function If the TP button is pressed while a traffic report is being broadcast, this traffic report is switched off. If the TP button is pressed when there is no traffic report, the function is switched off.
MUTE button
The MUTE button is only valid for the American version
It allows you to mute the audio source to which you are listening:

- Radio/AUX: the volume switches to zero. - CD/CDC: passes to pause mode.
When the function is active, is shown on the display. To switch off the function, press the MUTE button again, the radio returns to the earlier volume, or use the rotary button to increase the volume from 0.
Storing and selecting radio stations

Radio stations can be stored on every pre-tuning key. Two memory levels are available for each frequency (AM1, AM2, FM1 or FM2). Storing a radio station

When the station is stored, the number of the pre-tuning key where it is stored is shown on the display. Selecting a stored radio station To call up a stored radio station, select the corresponding frequency (AM or FM) and the corresponding memory level (AM1, AM2, FM1 or FM2). The required station is selected by briefly pressing the corresponding pretuning key.
Then select the required memory level (AM1, AM2, FM1 or FM2) page 16. The current memory level will be shown in the display. After selecting the required station, hold down the pre-tuning key that is to be allocated to the station until a signal can be heard.

AS Button. Autostore function Using the Autostore function, the six stations with the strongest reception in a frequency (AM or FM) are stored automatically. The Autostore function is activated by briefly pressing the AS multifunction key.
Activating AF Press the af multifunction key. AF appears on the display. The search for alternative frequencies available for the selected station is activated. Your radio automatically (and quietly) chooses the strongest signal for the selected station. Deactivating AF If you are driving through an area with bad coverage, each automatic re-tune will result in short breaks or slight changes in volume in the audio source. In order to avoid this, turn the AF function off. Press the af multifunction key again. AF is no longer displayed.
LEARN memory (lrn)

This function is only available on FM. The stations with the best reception can be stored in the LEARN memory. This function is useful if you are searching in a zone not normally used and you do not want to erase the stations stored in memory buttons (1 to 6) to which you are accustomed. Occupation of LEARN memory Press the LRN multifunction key. Learn appears on the display. The receiver searches the FM wavelength and stores the stations with the best reception in the area at that moment. Then the radio switches to the station with the best reception. To select another station from the LEARN memory press the search keys.
Alternative frequencies (AF)

This function is only available on FM. Some RDS programmes can be broadcast by various stations with different frequencies.

PTY mode
The PTY function is only valid in the European version

This allows you to select the type of programme desired, where the stations offer the PTY service in the FM ranges. To activate the PTY function, briefly press the PTY button, then select the programme type shown on the display using the corresponding multi-function key. After selection, the search starts, and stops for 10 seconds when it finds a station with the desired PTY (the display reads pty and the selected programme type). If the user decides to listen to the selected station, the search is stopped and the details of the station are displayed. To search for the next station, press the multi-function key or the search keys within the 10 seconds. If no station is found with the selected programme type, the PTY function is deactivated and the radio returns to the last selected station.
Programme types (PTY). Where the stations offer the PTY service on FM. - Shows:
Number of CD track currently playing, according to its position on the disc (track 1). For MP3 format CDs, the track number is indicated preceded by a musical note symbol ().
Track playing time. Function selected using the multi-function switches.
Number of CD currently playing (function only available with CD interchanger) For MP3 format CDs, the folder number is indicated preceded by a folder symbol (). Folders are numbered according to the attached diagram.

Inserting a CD Push the audio CD with the printed side facing up into the CD slot until it is automatically pulled in. After inserting an MP3 format CD, the display will indicate reading while the CD structure is read and recognised. During this time no functions are available. The play function will start automatically. CD eject button

Note
NO DISC will appear in the display if there is no CD in the CD player, or if the inserted CD cannot be read.
You might not be able to play CDs with copy protection or CD-Rs and CD-RWs.

Selecting a CD track and searching through a CD

Selecting CD tracks Press or to rewind or fast forward CD tracks. The number of selected track will be shown in the display.
The CD inserted in the player will be played automatically from track 1 when you switch to CD mode, or from the position where the play function was interrupted.

CD mode
For audio CDs with additional information (CD text) the title of the album, the track name and the artist will be displayed. For MP3 format CDs the title of the last directory and the title of the MP3 file will be displayed. Fast forward / rewind To search through individual tracks with the fast forward and rewind function, press and hold (forwards) or (rewind) until you have reached the required position. TRACK RANDOM (TRND) Function All tracks on a CD will be played in random order if the TRND function is active. The TRND function is switched on by briefly pressing the first multi-function key trnd. Track random appears on the display. When this function is activated, the background of the selected function darkens. To switch off the function press one of the multi-function buttons. TRACK SCAN (TSCAN) function When the TSCAN function is switched on, 10 seconds of each track are played. The TSCAN function is activated by pressing the multi-function key tscan briefly. Track scan appears on the display. To select the track that is being played, switch off the TSCAN function. The background of the selected function goes black. To switch off the function press one of the multi-function buttons. REPEAT (RPT) Function When the RPT function is on, the track which is currently playing is repeated until the function is switched off.

To switch off the function press one of the multi-function buttons. PAUSE (PAUSE) Function When the pause function is on, the CD stops playing until the function is switched off. INFO (INFO) Function For audio CDs with additional information (CD text) the title of the album, the track name and the artist will be displayed. For MP3 format CDs the information from the ID3 field will be displayed (Album title, track name and artist). Display information (artist, track name, ...) if available on CD. The function is switched on using the multi-function key info. info is displayed. If the CD is not available, no disc info is displayed. When this function is activated, the background of the selected function will go black. CD RANDOM (DRND) Function When the DRND function is on (function only available with CD interchanger), the CDs are played in random order.

FOLDER RANDOM (FRND) function The FOLDER RANDOM function (function only available if the CD is recognised as MP3 format) is used to play tracks from all the MP3 CD folders in a random manner.

Traffic reports when in CD mode

Any incoming traffic radio reports will interrupt the CD mode and are shown in the display. Connect the portable audio player (MP3, Walkman, CD, etc. ) to the AUX-IN connector, ensuring that the jack fits perfectly. The handling of folders, songs, etc. is done from the connected device. To listen tot he audio from the portable device, push the CD/AUX key on the radio. AUX RSE connection This connector may be used only as an audio input (red and white connectors) or audio and video connector (red, white and yellow connectors). For more details about the use of this audio and video source, see the RSE manual. Depending on the use, a cable adaptor with 2 or 3 RCA connections will be necessary.8)

AUX* Mode
Connect the portable audio playback device (MP3, Walkman, CD, etc.) or audio and video (iPod video, portable DVD player, DivX player, etc.) in the connector AUX RSE, making sure that the pins fit perfectly. Controlling the folders, songs, scenes, etc. is done from the connected device. To listen tot he audio from the portable device, push the CD/AUX key on the radio. Keep in mind that if you change temporarily to a different source without stopping the play on the portable device, when you go back to the auxiliary source using the CD/AUX key, it will not continue to play at the point where you left off.
This volume is independent of the car radio volume and is used to adjust the difference in volume between the different external and internal Audio sources. The volume of the auxiliary input may be adjusted using the button AUVOL and the rotary knob. The range is between -5 and +5.
Traffic reports when in AUX mode

Any incoming traffic radio reports will interrupt the AUX mode and are shown in the display. TP display If you switch from radio to AUX mode while a traffic report station is tuned in, TP will be displayed.

If the vehicle is fitted with auxiliary input AUX, it can not be fitted with a CD loader (CD6).

Search function A search for a station with traffic radio compatibility will automatically start if the transmitting range of the selected station is left while in AUX mode and the station selected in radio mode does not have traffic radio. The iPod9) is a portable MP3 player by Apple Computer Inc with several models on the market. These instructions describe the use of the iPod adaptor and its control through the car radio 10) or the navigator10) . Read them carefully and keep them handy for future reference. iPod adaptor
The adaptor connects the iPod to the vehicle sound system. So both share the stored information and the controls. The properties and functions of the iPod adaptor correspond with the software version when delivered.
Ideal operating temperature for iPod The ideal ambient temperature for an iPod is between 0 and 35C. The iPod can be damaged by prolonged exposure to high or low temperatures, for example, during the night. Therefore, it is recommended that the iPod is not left in the vehicle Check the iPod temperatures

Do not store vital information on the iPod. SEAT will not accept any responsibility for data or files that are corrupted or lost.
Battery charging
Note
To obtain the best sound quality we recommend using a 5th generation iPod with a fully charged battery. To avoid interference in data transfer or when loading, keep the contact surfaces of the adaptor and the iPod clean. The iPod is optional equipment.
The iPod battery is charged when placed onto the adaptor and the sound system turned on. When the battery is charged it will maintain this charge and the iPod will be powered from the vehicle battery. The charge will be interrupted when the sound system is turned off.
Changes in the software or firmware of the iPod may modify the properties and functions described herein. When selling the vehicle hand these instructions to the new owner.

Various iPod adaptors are included to guarantee the safe attachment of the connector.

Use the large adaptor for the smallest iPod. Insert the adaptor into the connector and then place the iPod. The larger iPods use the smaller adaptors when necessary. These adaptors can be entered with the widest side upwards in the central connector dock. If necessary use a lateral spacer to stabilise it. Check which of the adaptors supplied is best for your iPod and position it safely.
Attach the iPod The iPod connector is in the central armrest (Altea, Toledo) or under the passenger seat (Leon).

For optimum playback, activate the volume adjustment function and deactivate the equaliser before connecting the iPod adaptor according to the instructions. Attach the iPod First change the input source for the sound system, for example from CD to FM or to the radio. Open the compartment where the iPod adaptor is fitted. If required, attach an adaptor to the connector page 32.

After a few seconds, the sound system will detect it. The tracks stored can be played through the sound system. Close the compartment.
Remove the iPod from the adaptor

First change the input source for the sound system, for example from CD to FM or to the radio. Open the compartment where the iPod adaptor is fitted. Remove the iPod from the adaptor Close the compartment. .

It is vital that attention is not diverted from the traffic. Use the iPod only when traffic allows. Any distraction may lead to an accident, with the risk of injury.

Never detach the iPod when the sound source selected is the adaptor (CD). Otherwise the iPod memory could be damaged.

Turning the iPod on and off

Turning On The iPod turns on automatically if it is in the adaptor when the sound system is switched on. The battery will also charge when the iPod is in the adaptor. Turning Off Depending on the sound system, the iPod will turn itself off some minutes after the sound system is turned off.
The first five playlists stored on your iPod can be chosen directly by using the function keys 1 to 5 on the sound system. The existing playlists will be assigned by numerical / alphabetical order to the keys 1 to 5 . If, for example, the function key 2 of the sound system is pressed, the songs on the second playlist will be played. If an empty or non-existent playlist is selected, the next playlist will be selected. To make use of the playlists in the vehicle as easy as possible, we recommend editing a maximum of five playlists in the iPod. If you want to play songs from a playlist that cannot be selected directly by the function keys 1 to 5 , we recommend renaming the list using the iTunes computer programme so that it is among the first six on the iPod hard disk. Remember that some versions of iTunes contain predetermined playlists (onthe-go, my favourites). These folders also count in the total of six that the vehicle sound system can play. Ensure that they are ordered and arranged conveniently. Pressing the key 6 will enable all the songs on the iPod to be played.
Note
Starting the car when the iPod is on will momentarily interrupt playback. Playback will begin again at the point where it was interrupted.
Operation of the iPod through the sound system

Music playback through the sound system Once the iPod is attached to the connector, the sound system detects it as CD changer.
Control is through the sound system controls. The iPod is used like a CD changer. Choosing and playing songs, fast forward and rewind and random playback are described in the radio or navigation system manual of your vehicle. Playing songs from the playlists Songs can be stored in playlists on the iPod. The playlists are ordered by number and alphabetically in the iPod hard disk.
Consult the iPod manufacturer's instruction manual to learn how to select and store songs and create playlists. Play all recorded songs If the function key CD 6 of the sound system is pressed, all the songs on the iPod will be played. Selecting songs manually on the iPod The iPod also allows songs to be selected directly Select the song on the iPod and attach it to the connector. The sound system will play the selected song. When the song finishes, all the remaining songs in the same group on the iPod will be played (by artist, genre, album, playlist, etc.).

WARNING
Skipping songs is possible in some sound systems as far as number 99 using the knob. The titles with higher numbers must be selected using the keys. When selecting a three figure number the hundreds will not appear on the screen. When turning off or restarting the engine the iPod will continue where it left off. In this case the sound system screen will always show 6, regardless of the playlist. This will remain until the playlist is changed.
Never lose visual contact with the road in order to adjust or use the iPod and the sound system. Use the iPod only when the state of the road, the weather and traffic conditions permit.
When adjusting the volume, ensure that external noise such as ambulance or police sirens can still be heard.
Note
The multi-function steering wheel can also be used to select songs11) .
If many songs are skipped, there may be a delay during playback. The duration will depend on, among other things, the type of iPod used.
Depending on the sound system, when changing a playlist, a song from the previous list may be played. This is a system function and not an error.
The information stored on the iPod such as artist, title, album, genre is not processed by the iPod adaptor. Songs cannot be selected according to these search criteria, and no indication is given on the sound system panel. The repetition is automatically activated when turning the iPod on in the adaptor. When playback reaches the end of a playlist, it will start again at the beginning. If the iPod has the random function activated when attached to the adaptor, it will also be selected in the sound system and can be deactivated by pressing the key MIX or trnd (depending on the sound system) twice. The numbers of the titles on the sound system screen are counted accordingly.

Note
The memory stick, the MP3 player or the USB extension cable are not standard equipment for your vehicle. If the USB port does not detect the memory stick after 15 seconds, disconnect it and reconnect it. In some cases the MP3 must be activated to make the connection with the USB port. Consult the instructions of your MP3 player.
WARNING
Adjust the volume so that external noise can be heard at all times, such as police, fire and emergency services sirens. Never remove the memory stick or MP3 player when driving.
Caution
The temperature range of the Memory stick and MP3 is limited and is normally between 0 and 40C. Therefore, do not leave it in the vehicle for long.

As many as 99 tracks can be shown, although all those contained in the folder can be played A title with three figures will not show the hundreds on the screen, only the last two. If there are folders in the root directory individual files will not be played, so all data in the root directory should be in folders Storing files in a memory stick or MP3 player Store files in folders instead of using the root directory of the memory stick or player. In this way the songs can be stored in order (e.g. all the songs in a certain style in the same folder). The function keys CD 1 to CD 6 of the radio can only select the first 5 folders. If there are more than 6 folders in the memory stick or MP3 player their content cannot be played. The folders can be subdivided into subfolders e.g. different albums by an artist. Example of a music folder structure: Playback of music via USB connection Connect the memory stick or MP3 player with the USB extension cable to the USB port. The screen will show the first 6 folders detected by the USB port, displayed as CD 1 to CD 6. Folders without music files will not be included. If there are more than 6 music folders in the device, the exact number of folders can be shown using the CD options.
If the music files are not classified into folders, but stored directly in the root directory, the radio will read the files and play them in the same order. The display then shows CD 1. Music files and folders will be played in alphabetical order, so files beginning with numbers will be selected first, before those with letters. A file with the name 1XXXXXXXX will be played before another with the name AAAAAA. Screen indications When selecting a music file with the CD keys, it appears in the radio equipment screen Track 1. As many as 99 tracks can be shown.

Comments about CD-R (CD Writable) / CR-RW (CD Re-writable)
With this unit CD-ROMs, CD-Rs or CD-RWs can be played in CD-CA (Audio) and MP3 mode.12) Depending on the quality of the medium and the characteristics of the recording some CDs may not be read. This is normal and is not a sign of malfunction. If a CD-R / CD-RW disc has not been finished, it cannot be played

The unit supports MP3 discs that have been formatted using the ISO 9660 standard level 1 or 2. The unit can also play discs recorded using the Romeo or Joliet standard. The unit will not play CDs recorded using Packet Writing (UDF or Direct CD formats) whether this has been used on the entire disc or within a session. In this case the display will display an error message and eject the CD. ISO 9660 format This is the most common of international standards for the format logic of files and folders on a CD-ROM. There are different levels of specification. For level 1, the names must be in 8.3 format (8 characters maximum for the name of the file +3 characters for the extension .MP3. Folder names cannot be more than 8 letters long. However, Level 2 specifications allow up to 31 characters. Multi-session CDs
What are MP3 files?

MP3 (MPEG 1 Audio Layer-3) is a standardised technology and format for the compression of sound sequences. The sound file is compressed to about 1/10th of its original size. Sounds that are out of the human hearing range are excluded while those that are within the range are compressed.
This method of recording means that information may later be added to the CD (while there is enough space remaining and the CD is not closed). The information on each recorded CD is contained within an area marked by two data labels called Lead-in for the beginning of the area and Lead-out for the end of the area. A multi-session CD will allow for multiple segments that contain their own Lead-in and Lead-out.
Accepted recording formats

It is possible to play MP3 files recorded on CD-ROMs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs.

Information from the ID3 data field

The ID3 data of an MP3 file contains information about the Artist, Album and the name of the track.
The MP3 functions are only available on the radio version with MP3. A process required so that a CD-R/CD-RW can be played by an audio CD player. Any CD with a session open (not finished) will not be recognised and the display will show an error message.

MP3 mode
This unit can display the information from the ID3 data field, versions 1 and 2, to a maximum of 60 characters in total.
Note
When an MP3 disc is being played it is possible that some songs may not play or may be played incorrectly. This may be due to the configuration of the disc, the software or the hardware used for the recording. Audio CDs (CD-A) meet the specifications and carry a corresponding symbol. Those CDs with copyright protection do not meet these specifications and do not bear the corresponding symbol; for this reason there may be errors in reading this type of disc.
For MP3 CDs the MP3 data rate should oscillate between 8 and 320 Kb/sec. It is possible to read multi-session discs but if the data has been recorded in both formats (CD-DA and MP3), regardless of the order, only the audio tracks will be played. With other formats that are not ISO 9660 level 1 or 2, the names of the files and folders may not be displayed correctly.
When naming an MP3 file make sure the extension is correct. Writing .MP3 for a non-MP3 file means that the file will not be recognised and may play unwanted noises. It is not possible to play MP3 files that are deeper than the first 8 folder levels. To speed up the reading and searching, only two levels of folders are recommended. The following types of disc will take some time to begin playing: A disc with many folder levels. A multi-session disc. A disc to which information may be added (Open).
It will not be possible to play an audio CD (CD-R/CD-RW) that has not been closed.

Precautionary measures for the use of laser equipment
Laser devices are classified by DIN IEC 76 (CO) 6/ VDE 0837 into safety classes 1 to 4. The SEAT CD player corresponds to safety class 1. The lasers used in class 1 units are low energy lasers, or are shielded in such a manner that they present no danger when used correctly. Do not remove the cover of the unit. It does not have any parts which can be serviced by the user.
Tips on cleaning CDs

Use a soft, lintfree cloth to clean CDs. Clean discs in a straight line from the centre outwards. If they are very dirty use a conventional CD cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
WARNING
Never use fluids such as petrol, paint thinner or record cleaner, as these can damage the surface of the CD!
Tips for CD mode

To ensure perfect, high-quality CD reproduction, only clean, undamaged CDs should be used. Please do not stick any labels onto the CDs. Compact discs not being used should always be stored in the CD rack from the Genuine SEAT accessories range or in the original case. Never expose CDs to direct sunlight!
Caution
Use only standard 12 cm CDs. Special shape CDs or 8 cm singles cannot be played and they will damage the CD player.

Este Manual de Instrues e os respectivos suplementos devem ser lidos com ateno, para que se familiarize rapidamente com o seu veculo. Alm dos cuidados e manuteno peridicos do veculo, a utilizao adequada do mesmo contribui para manter o seu valor. Por razes de segurana, tome sempre em considerao as informaes sobre acessrios, modificaes e substituio de peas. Caso venda o veculo, entregue ao novo proprietrio a documentao de bordo completa, uma vez que esta pertence ao veculo.

Este manual contm informaes, recomendaes, conselhos e advertncias relacionados com o seu equipamento de rdio. Nas outras publicaes da documentao de bordo encontrar mais informaes relacionadas com a sua segurana e a dos seus acompanhantes. Assegure-se de que toda a documentao de bordo se encontre sempre no veculo. Esta recomendao aplica-se muito particularmente no caso de o emprestar ou vender. O presente manual descreve toda a gama de equipamentos do veculo data da publicao. Alguns dos equipamentos aqui descritos s sero implementados em data posterior ou s estaro disponveis em determinados mercados. As figuras podem divergir, no pormenor, do seu veculo e devem ser entendidas apenas como referncias de orientao. As indicaes de direco reportam ao sentido da marcha do veculo, desde que no haja informao em contrrio. Os equipamentos assinalados com um asterisco* esto equipados de srie em determinadas verses do modelo, so aplicados como opcionais apenas em algumas verses ou apenas esto disponveis em determinados pases. As exigncias do trnsito actual requerem a total ateno dos utentes da via pblica. Todavia, as muitas possibilidades postas disposio pelo equipamento de rdio s deveriam ser utilizadas quando a situao de trfego o permita.
ATENO!
Antes de iniciar a viagem, lembre-se que fundamental conhecer as diferentes funes do rdio. O volume elevado pode representar um perigo para si e para os outros.
Regule o volume de modo a poder distinguir os outros rudos, como, por exemplo, buzinas, sirenes, etc. Os ajustes do auto-rdio deveriam ser feitos com o veculo parado, ou pelo acompanhante.
Nota
Retire o carto de rdio-navegao e guarde-o num local seguro, mas nunca dentro do veculo. Caso se extravie o rdio com o cdigo, dirija-se a um Concessionrio SEAT para obter ajuda.

Cdigo anti-roubo de conforto
O equipamento de som identificar automaticamente o seu veculo. Se a corrente for interrompida, ao voltar a ligar a ignio, o equipamento de som verifica automaticamente se ainda se encontra no seu veculo. Caso isso acontea, dentro de poucos segundos volta a estar pronto a funcionar. Com o cdigo do conforto deixa de ser necessrio desbloquear manualmente o equipamento de som. No entanto, se o equipamento de som se encontrar noutro veculo, deve desbloque-lo introduzindo o cdigo. Para obter esse cdigo, dirija-se a um Servio Oficial SEAT.
Informao importante sobre a utilizao do equipamento de rdio

Utilizao durante o andamento As exigncias do trnsito actual requerem a total ateno dos utentes da via pblica. Os amplos e complexos pormenores de equipamento dos auto-rdios modernos proporcionam a par de uma extensa gama de possibilidades de entretenimento, tambm inmeras informaes sobre a situao do trnsito, o estado das estradas, entre outras. No entanto, s se devero aproveitar as possibilidades que a operao do equipamento nos oferece, se as condies do trnsito efectivamente o permitirem. A troca de um CD ou a leitura da sua etiqueta em andamento j tem provocado, por exemplo, situaes crticas. Tambm o volume do rdio dever ser ajustado de forma a que possam ser sempre ouvidos os sinais acsticos do exterior.
Indicao no painel de instrumentos

No display do painel de instrumentos tambm se mostra informao referente ao rdio. A funo activada mediante uma presso longa da tecla inferior do basculante situado no extremo da alavanca do limpa/lava-vidros e seleccionando no menu a funo udio.

Funo Soft-Clipping
O rdio tem um sistema de reduo automtico do ajuste de volume para evitar a distoro e possveis danos no rdio e nos altifalantes. Na maioria das ocasies esta proteco realizada quando a indicao de volume no visvel (display normal da fonte seleccionada) e no se percebe nenhuma mudana. Tenha em conta que se a proteco activada no momento em que est visvel a indicao temporal de volume, ser percebida como uma reduo do ajuste de volume seleccionado pelo usurio.
Proteco contra sobrecargas

No caso de altas temperaturas e/ou grande volume, pode haver uma reaco do circuito de proteco. Durante essa fase, para descarregar os amplificadores, desligam-se as etapas finais dos altifalantes.

- Desligar/ligar: ao pression-lo uma vez, o equipamento de rdio liga-se ou desliga-se.
Ao ligar o equipamento, este surge com o mesmo nvel de volume da ltima fonte de som seleccionada antes de o desligar, sempre que no seja ultrapassado o volume mximo determinado pela funo ON-VOL pgina 13.

Tecla TP. Informaes de trfego (Traffic Program)2) - Permite activar ou desactivar a emisso de informaes de trfego pgina 18 interrompendo, se for necessrio, a reproduo de um CD pgina 23. Tecla MUTE3) - Permite silenciar a fonte que est a ser ouvida (volume 0).

Tecla PTY - Nas emissoras FM com RDS permite seleccionar o tipo de programa desejado (SPORT, NEWS, ...) pgina 21. Tecla LOUD - Permite activar ou desactivar a funo LOUDNESS, que reala os graves e agudos em volumes baixos.
11 Teclas multifuno A
- Atravs das teclas multifunes, possvel seleccionar uma propriedade do som (TREBLE, BASS) e a distribuio do volume (BALANCE, FADER)1) . Os 2 pgina 11. valores ajustam-se mediante as teclas A
5 Tecla CD/AUX A
- Seleccionar o modo CD/Entrada AUX (caso esteja instalada).

6 Tecla AM A
- A funo destas teclas varia consoante o modo de funcionamento. No display pode-se ver a ocupao momentnea dos botes.

- Permite seleccionar a banda AM pgina 16.

Menu UDIO
Ao pressionar a tecla multifunes reset, todas as regulaes de som so colocadas na posio central (valor zero). As regulaes so memorizadas automaticamente. Se no forem realizadas quaisquer regulaes, o rdio regressa ao fim de cerca de 5 minutos ao ponto de partida. igualmente possvel sair do menu AUDIO pressionando uma tecla de funes ou pressionando a tecla multifunes da ltima regulao modificada.
Memria de ajustes de som

Nas teclas de pr-sintonia 1.... 5 pode memorizar as regulaes de som (bass/mid/treb) e de distribuio de volume (bal/fad).

Para seleccionar a regulao desejada, pressionar a respectiva tecla multifunes. Atravs das teclas de pesquisa inicia-se a regulao das propriedades do som: BASS (ajuste de mdios) / MID (ajuste de mdios) / TREB (ajuste de agudos). e a distribuio do volume: BAL (entre os canais direito e esquerdo) / FAD (entre os canais dianteiro e traseiro).

Efectue os ajuste de graves, mdios, agudos, balano e fader tal como foi descrito anteriormente. Enquanto estiver a efectuar alguma destas regulaes, mantenha pressionada a tecla de pr-sintonia (1....5) onde desejar memorizar estas regulaes, at ouvir o sinal de confirmao. No visor apresentado sound 1 (se escolheu a tecla 1). Os valores regulados ficam memorizados. Recuperar os valores memorizados Pressionar a tecla SOUND e, em seguida, a tecla de pr-sintonia onde se encontra a regulao que contm os valores que deseja recuperar (por exemplo, 3). No visor aparece SOUND 3.

Os valores memorizados passam a ser os actuais. Recuperar os valores mdios Pressionar a tecla SOUND e, em seguida, a tecla de pr-sintonia 6.
No visor aparece SOUND 6. Todas as regulaes so repostas para o seu valor mdio.

Para facilitar a utilizao, o rdio dispe do menu PROG, que permite realizar uma srie de regulaes que so necessrias apenas uma vez ou ocasionalmente. Ajustes 1. Activao do menu PROG Pressionar a tecla PROG, no visor apresentado program e as diferentes funes do menu programar que podem ser seleccionadas. 2. Seleccionar as funes do menu PROG Pressionar a respectiva tecla multifunes da funo pretendida. No visor apresentada a referida funo.
As teclas multifunes <,> permitem mudar o visor para visualizar a totalidade das funes. 3. Variar a regulao da funo Uma vez seleccionada a funo, as regulaes podem variar atravs das teclas de pesquisa, excepto as funes onvol, tlvol e tpvol, que so reguladas atravs do boto rotativo. As regulaes efectuadas so indicadas no visor. 4. Activar a nova regulao Uma vez seleccionada a nova regulao, esta imediatamente actualizada. Chegado a este ponto, pode voltar a seleccionar e ajustar outra funo repetindo os pontos 2 a 4, ou ento:

5. Finalizar as regulaes Se no forem realizadas quaisquer regulaes, o rdio regressa ao fim de cerca de 5 minutos ao ponto de partida. igualmente possvel sair do menu PROG pressionando qualquer tecla de funes.

Funo SCAN Com a funo SCAN activada, feita uma passagem de 10 segundos por todas as estaes emissoras com boa qualidade de recepo. Para seleccionar uma das estaes emissoras, cancelar a funo SCAN enquanto essa emissora est a ser emitida. Com a funo de recepo de informaes de trfego TP activada, o aparelho est preparado para receber mensagens sobre a situao do trfego em qualquer modo de funcionamento. A funo TP s pode ser utilizada na banda de FM. Se a banda AM for ligada, a funo TP desactivada automaticamente. Activao da funo TP Pressionando a tecla TP, apresentado no visor: - TP: se a emissora sintonizada emitir informaes de trfego. - (TP): se a emissora sintonizada no emitir informaes de trfego. As mensagens so reproduzidas com um nvel de volume mnimo determinado. No menu PROG pode mudar o volume mnimo. Aps as informaes de trfego, continuar a ser ouvida a fonte seleccionada no volume que estava regulado.
O funcionamento do CD ou do CD6/AUX interrompido durante a reproduo das informaes de trfego. Durante a reproduo das informaes de trfego, pode variar o volume com o boto principal. Desactivao da funo TP Se a tecla TP for pressionada durante a emisso de informaes de trfego, a respectiva emisso ser desactivada. Permite silenciar a fonte que est a ser ouvida: - Rdio/AUX: o volume colocado a zero.
- CD/CDC: passa para o modo pause. Quando a funo est activada, no visor apresentado . Para desactivar a funo, voltar a pressionar a tecla MUTE para recuperar o volume anterior, ou rodar o boto rotativo para regular o volume a partir do 0.

Pode memorizar emissoras de rdio em todas as teclas de pr-sintonia. Para cada banda de frequncia so propostos dois nveis de memria (AM, AM2, FM1 ou FM2). Memorizar uma emissora de rdio

Frequncias alternativas (AF)

Esta funo est apenas disponvel na banda FM. Existem programas RDS que podem ser transmitidos por vrias emissoras com frequncias diferentes. Activar AF Prima a tecla multifuno af. No visor aparece AF. activada a pesquisa de frequncias alternativas disponveis para a emissora seleccionada. O rdio passa automtica e silenciosamente para a frequncia alternativa com melhor recepo. Desactivar AF
Memria LEARN (lrn)

Esta funo est apenas disponvel na banda FM. Na memria LEARN possvel armazenar as emissoras com a melhor qualidade de recepo. Esta funo poder ser til se circular numa zona diferente e no quiser apagar as habituais emissoras sintonizadas nas teclas de memria (1 a 6). Ocupao da memria LEARN Prima a tecla multifuno LRN. No visor aparece learn. O receptor pesquisa na banda FM e memoriza as emissoras de maior potncia que so emitidas na zona em que est a circular nesse momento. Em seguida, o equipamento muda para a emissora de melhor recepo. Para seleccionar outra emissora da memria LEARN, pressionar as teclas de pesquisa.
Caso se encontre numa zona de fraca recepo, as tentativas de mudana de frequncia so detectveis atravs de breves pausas no som ou de alteraes no volume. Para evit-lo, possvel desactivar a funo AF. Prima novamente a tecla multifuno af. A indicao AF apagada do visor.

Permite seleccionar o tipo de programa desejado, partindo do princpio que as emissoras nas bandas de FM oferecem o servio PTY. Para activar a funo PTY, pressionar brevemente a tecla PTY; em seguida, seleccionar o tipo de programa indicado no visor atravs da respectiva tecla multifunes. Uma vez seleccionado, a pesquisa iniciada, parando durante 10 segundos quando encontra uma emissora com o PTY desejado (no visor apresentado pty e o tipo de programa pretendido). Se o utilizador pretender ouvir a emissora seleccionada, a pesquisa pra, apresentando os dados dessa emissora. Para pesquisar a emissora seguinte, pressionar a tecla multifunes ou as teclas de pesquisa nos 10 segundos seguintes.
Se no for encontrada nenhuma emissora que emita o tipo de programa seleccionado, a funo PTY desactivada e regressa-se ltima emissora seleccionada. Seleccionar faixas do CD Pressionar as teclas ou para retroceder ou avanar faixas de um CD. O nmero da faixa seleccionada indicado no display. No caso de um CD de udio com informao adicional (CD Text) tambm aparecer o ttulo do lbum, o ttulo da cano e o intrprete. No caso de um CD formato MP3 tambm aparecer o ttulo do ltimo directrio e o ttulo do arquivo MP3. Avano/retrocesso rpidos Para pesquisar uma passagem especfica numa faixa, mantenha pressionada a tecla (avano rpido) ou (retrocesso rpido) at localizar o ponto desejado. Funo TRACK RANDOM (TRND) Com a funo TRND activada, so reproduzidas, por ordem aleatria, as msicas do CD seleccionado. A funo TRND activada pressionando-se brevemente a primeira tecla multifunes trnd. No visor aparece track random. Com a funo activada, o fundo da funo seleccionada escurecido. Para desactivar a funo, pressionar uma das teclas multifunes. Funo TRACK SCAN (TSCAN) Com a funo TSCAN activada, so reproduzidos 10 segundos de cada faixa do CD. A funo TSCAN activada pressionando-se brevemente a tecla multifunes tscan. Conexo AUX RSE Este conector pode ser utilizado como entrada somente de udio (conectores vermelho e branco) ou udio e vdeo (conectores vermelho, branco e amarelo). Conecte um dispositivo porttil de reproduo de udio (MP3, Walkman, CD, etc.) ou udio e vdeo (iPod vdeo, reprodutor de DVD porttil, reprodutor de DivX, etc.) no conector AUX RSE, assegurando-se de que as cavilhas fiquem perfeitamente conectadas. O controlo das pastas, msicas, cenas,..... feito a partir do equipamento porttil ligado. Para escutar o udio do dispositivo porttil pressionar a tecla CD/AUX do rdio. Tenha em conta que se mudar temporalmente a outra fonte diferente sem deter a reproduo no dispositivo porttil, quando voltar a seleccionar a fonte auxiliar mediante a tecla CD/AUX a reproduo no continuar no ponto em que a deixou.

Adaptador do iPod
O adaptador liga o iPod ao sistema de som do veculo. Desta forma, possvel que ambos os equipamentos partilhem a informao armazenada, bom como os comandos. As propriedades e funes do adaptador do iPod correspondem verso do software no momento da entrega.
Temperatura ambiente ideal do iPod A temperatura ambiente ideal do iPod deve oscilar entre 0 e 35C. O iPod pode ficar danificado se for submetido de forma prolongada a temperaturas excessivamente altas ou baixas, por exemplo, durante a noite. Portanto, recomenda-se que no deixe o iPod no interior do veculo Consulte mais informaes relativas s temperaturas nas instrues do fabricante do iPod. .

No introduza nunca objectos metlicos no adaptador do iPod, pois poder provocar um curto-circuito.

A temperaturas excessivamente altas ou baixas, como as que podem existir no interior do veculo, o iPod pode ficar danificado. S se utilizaro iPods e sistemas de som homologados pela SEAT.
No armazene dados importantes no iPod. A SEAT no se responsabiliza nunca pelos dados ou ficheiros que possam deteriorar-se ou perder-se.
Carregar a bateria
A bateria do iPod carregada se estiver introduzida no adaptador e o sistema de som ligado. Quando a bateria estiver carregada, conserva a sua carga e o iPod alimentado a partir da bateria do veculo. O carregamento interrompido quando o sistema de som desligado.
Nota
Para obter uma qualidade ptima de som, recomendamos utilizar um iPod da 5 gerao com a bateria completamente carregada. Para evitar interferncias na transmisso de dados e durante o carregamento, mantenha limpas as superfcies de contacto do adaptador e do iPod. O iPod faz parte do equipamento opcional.
As mudanas nas verses do software ou do firmware do iPod podem alterar as propriedades e funes do mesmo, descritas nestas instrues. O novo proprietrio do veculo recebe estas instrues quando compra a viatura.

Conector para o iPod da Apple

Seleccionar adaptador
So fornecidos de srie vrios adaptadores do iPod que garantem a sua fixao segura no conector. Utilize o adaptador grande para o iPod pequeno. Introduza o adaptador no conector e coloque em seguida o iPod. Para os iPods de maiores dimenses, utilize um dos adaptadores pequenos se for necessrio. Estes adaptadores podem ser introduzidos com o lado mais largo para cima no rebaixo central do conector. Se for necessrio, utilize tambm um distanciador lateral para que fique estvel. Verifique qual dos adaptadores fornecidos serve para o seu iPod e permite coloc-lo de forma segura.
Introduzir o iPod A ligao do iPod encontra-se no compartimento do apoio de braos central (Altea, Toledo), o baixo do banco do acompanhante (Leon).

Para ter uma reproduo ptima, antes de ligar o adaptador do iPod seguindo as instrues, active a funo ajuste de volume e desactive o equalizador. Introduzir o iPod Mude primeiro a fonte de entrada do sistema de som, por exemplo, de CD para FM ou para rdio. Abra o compartimento onde est alojado o adaptador do iPod. Caso seja necessrio, introduza um adaptador no conector pgina 34. Adaptador do compartimento do apoio de braos central: Introduza o iPod com o ecr para a direita segundo o sentido de andamento pgina 34, fig. 14. Adaptador debaixo do banco do acompanhante: Introduza o iPod com o ecr para cima e o contacto para trs pgina 34, fig. 15. O iPod liga-se automaticamente. Ao fim de alguns segundos, o sistema de som detecta o leitor. As msicas armazenadas podem ser reproduzidas atravs do sistema de som. Feche o compartimento.

Utilizao do iPod atravs do sistema de som

Reproduzir ficheiros de msica atravs do sistema de som Uma vez introduzido o iPod no conector, o sistema de som detecta-o como carregador de CDs.
A utilizao ser feita atravs dos comandos do sistema de som. O iPod ser utilizado de forma semelhante ao carregador de CDs. A seleco e reproduo de msicas, o avano e retrocesso e a reproduo aleatria so descritas no manual do rdio ou do sistema de navegao do seu veculo. Reproduzir as msicas das listas de reproduo No iPod as msicas podem ser armazenadas em listas de reproduo. As listas de reproduo so ordenadas alfanumericamente no disco duro do iPod. Pode seleccionar directamente uma das cinco primeiras listas de reproduo armazenadas no seu iPod mediante as teclas de funo 1 at 5 do sistema de som. As listas de reproduo existentes so atribudas por ordem alfanumrica s teclas 1 at 5 . Se premir, por exemplo, a tecla de funo

Ligar O iPod liga-se automaticamente se estiver no adaptador quando se liga o sistema de som. A bateria tambm carrega quando o iPod est introduzido no adaptador.

Se desejar reproduzir msicas de uma lista de reproduo que no se pode seleccionar directamente mediante as teclas de funo 1 at 5 , recomendamos que volte a atribuir o nome referida lista mediante o programa informtico iTunes num computador, de forma a que figure entre as seis primeiras no disco duro do iPod. Tenha em conta que, em algumas verses do Tunes, aparecem listas de reproduo pre-determinadas (on-the-go, minhas favoritas,..). Estas pastas tambm sero no total 6 que podem ser reproduzidas no sistema de som do veculo. Certifique-se que as ordena e/ou edita segundo as suas preferncias. Ao premir a tecla 6 poder reproduzir a totalidade das msicas armazenadas no iPod. Consulte o manual de instrues do fabricante do iPod para saber como seleccionar e armazenar msicas, bem como para criar listas de reproduo. Reproduzir todas as msicas armazenadas Se premir a tecla de funo CD 6 do sistema de som, sero reproduzidas todas as msicas armazenadas no iPod. Seleccionar as msicas manualmente atravs do iPod Com o iPod pode tambm seleccionar msicas directamente. Seleccione a msica no iPod e introduza-o no conector. O sistema de som reproduz a msica seleccionada. Ao terminar a msica, sero reproduzidas as msicas restantes armazenadas na agrupao do iPod (por autor, gnero, lbum, lista de reproduo,....).

Ao ajustar o volume das fontes de udio, certifique-se que pode ouvir os sinais acsticos externos, como sirenes da policia ou das ambulncias.

Pode tambm seleccionar msicas mediante o volante multifunes11) .
Se saltar muitas msicas, a reproduo poder ser ligeiramente atrasada. A durao da mesma depender, entre outros factores, do tipo de iPod que utilize. Em funo do sistema de som, ao mudar a lista de reproduo poder ouvir uma msica da lista de reproduo anterior. Esta funo depende do sistema e no se trata de uma avaria.
A informao armazenada no iPod como, por exemplo, intrprete, ttulo, lbum e tipo de msica no processada pelo adaptador do iPod; no possvel seleccionar msicas atravs destes critrios de busca ou seleco, bem como no apresentada qualquer tipo de indicao no ecr do sistema de som.
A repetio activada automaticamente ao ligar o iPod ao adaptador. No final da lista de reproduo, volta a repetir-se desde o incio. Se ao introduzir o iPod no adaptador estiver activada a funo ttulo aleatrio, tambm o estar ao reproduzir-se atravs do sistema de som e se poder desactivar premindo a tecla MIX ou trnd (consoante do sistema de

som) duas vezes. Os nmeros dos ttulos que aparecem no ecr do sistema de som so contados correlativamente.
O salto de msica possvel em alguns sistemas de som at msica nmero 99 com um boto giratrio. Os ttulos com nmeros maiores tm que ser seleccionados com as teclas. Ao seleccionar um ttulo com um nmero de trs algarismos, o das centenas no ser apresentado no ecr.
Ao desligar e voltar a ligar a ignio ou o sistema de som, a reproduo do iPod continuar no ponto em que foi interrompida. Nesse caso, no ecr do sistema de som aparecer sempre CD 6, independentemente da lista de reproduo. Esta indicao permanece at que mude a lista de reproduo.

Podem apresentar-se at 99 pistas, mas podem reproduzir-se todas as que existam na pasta. Ao seleccionar um ttulo com um nmero de 3 algarismos, as centenas no sero apresentadas no ecr, e somente os dois ltimos algarismos. A msica se pode administrar com as teclas do rdio. A seleco e reproduo de msicas, o avano e retrocesso e a reproduo aleatria so descritas no manual do rdio do seu veculo. Caso haja pastas no directrio raz, no sero reproduzidos os ficheiros soltos, pelo que se aconselha a ter a informao no directrio raz dentro de pastas. Armazenamento de ficheiros num carto de memria ou num leitor de MP3 Recomenda-se o armazenamento em pastas para memoriza-las directamente no directorio raz de memria ou num leitor. Desta forma, poder guardar as msicas de forma ordenada (p. ex., agrupando todas as msicas do mesmo estilo musical num pasta). Com as teclas de funo CD 1 at CD 6 do rdio, pode seleccionar apenas as 6 primeiras pastas. Caso tenha mais de 6 pastas no carto de memria ou no leitor de MP3, o seu contedo no poder ser reproduzido. Poder ento subdividir as pastas noutras para guardar, p. ex., os diferentes lbuns de um autor. Exemplo da estrutura de uma pasta de msica: Reproduo de ficheiros de msica mediante a ligao USB Ligue o carto de memria ou o leitor de MP3 com um cabo porta USB. No ecr apresentam-se as 6 primeiras pastas detectadas pela porta USB, representadas como CD 1 at CD 6. Aquelas pastas que no contenham ficheiros de msica no sero consideradas. Caso tenha menos de 6 pastas de msica no seu dispositivo, aparecer no ecr o nmero de pastas exacto mediante as opes de CD.
Se os ficheiros de msica do seu dispositivo no esto classificados por pastas, caso no estejam armazenados directamente no directrio raz, o rdio reconhece os ficheiros reproduz-los pela mesma ordem. No ecr aparece a indicao CD 1. Os ficheiros de msica e as pastas so reproduzidas por ordem alfabtica, ou seja, os ficheiros que comecem por algarismos tero prioridade relativamente aos que comecem por letras. Um ficheiro com o nome 1 XXXXXX ser reproduzido antes que outro com o nome AAAAAA. Indicao do mostrador Quando selecciona uma pasta de msica com as teclas de CD, apresentado no ecr do rdio Track 1. Podem ser apresentadas at um total de 99 pistas.

Antes de desligar a ignio, a porta USB do seu veculo memoriza a posio da msica que est a ser reproduzida nesse momento. Sempre que o contedo no varie do seu dispositivo, o sistema retoma esse mesmo ponto, assim que voltar a ligar a ignio. Se saltar muitas msicas, a reproduo poder ser ligeiramente atrasada. A deteco do carto de memria ou do leitor de MP3 requer alguns segundos em funo do tipo de memria utilizada. No apresentado o ttulo da msica no ecr.

Comentrios sobre CD-R (CD Gravvel) / CR-RW (CD Regravvel)
Com este dispositivo poder reproduzir CD-ROM, CD-R ou CD-RW em formato CD-CA (udio) e MP3.12) Dependendo da qualidade dos meios e das caractersticas da gravao, pode ser que alguns CD's que voc tenha gravado no possam ser lidos. Nestes casos, no se trata de uma falha do aparelho. No possvel reproduzir nenhum CD-R/CD-RW que no esteja finalizado13) .
Formatos de gravao suportados

possvel reproduzir ficheiros MP3 gravados sobre CD-ROM?s, CD-R's e CDRW's. A unidade suporta discos MP3 formatados sob as indicaes do standard ISO 9660 nvel 1 ou nvel 2. A unidade tambm pode reproduzir discos gravados com formato Romeo ou Joliet. Em nenhum caso a unidade poder reproduzir CDs gravados com Packet writing (Formatos UDF ou Direct CD) seja na totalidade do CD ou em alguma sesso. Neste caso o display mostrar uma mensagem de erro e repelir o CD. Formato ISO 9660
O que um ficheiro MP3?

MP3 (MPEG 1 Audio Layer-3) uma tecnologia e formato estandardizado de compresso de sequncias de som. O ficheiro comprimido numa relao de aproximadamente 1/10 em relao ao seu tamanho original. Os sons fora da margem de audio humana so omitidos enquanto que os que sim podem ser escutados so comprimidos.
O mais comum dos standards internacionais para a lgica de formato de ficheiros ou pastas num CD-ROM. H vrios nveis de especificao. No Nvel 1, os nomes devem estar em formato 8.3 (8 caracteres como mximo para o nome do ficheiro +3 caracteres para a extenso .MP3). As pastas no podem ter mais de 8 caracteres. Pelo contrrio o Nvel 2 de especificaes permite at 31 caracteres. CD's Multisesso Este um mtodo de gravao que permite acrescentar informao ao CD (sempre que exista suficiente espao e o CD no esteja fechado). A informao de cada CD gravado est compreendida numa rea delimitada entre duas etiquetas denominadas Lead-in para o incio e Lead-out para a finalizao. Um CD Multisesso permite mltiplos segmentos onde cada segmento contm um Lead-in e um Lead-out indicando incio e final de sesso.

As funes MP3 s esto disponveis na verso de rdio com MP3. Um processo necessrio para que uma gravao com CD-R/CD-RW possa ser reproduzida com um leitor de CD de udio. Qualquer CD com uma sesso aberta (no finalizada) impedir que este possa ser reconhecido mostrando-se em display uma mensagem de erro.

Informao do campo ID3

O campo ID3 de um ficheiro MP contm informao sobre o Artista, lbum e Nome da cano. A unidade pode mostrar em ecr a informao do campo ID3 verses 1 e 2 at um mximo de 60 caracteres em total.
Um disco ao que se possa acrescentar informao (Disco no fechado).
No possvel reproduzir CD's de udio (CD-R nem CD-RW) que no estejam finalizados.
Nota
Quando reproduza um CD MP3 possvel que algumas canes no se reproduzam ou se reproduzam de modo incorrecto. Isto pode ter como causa a configurao do disco, o software ou o hardware utilizado para a gravao. Os CD's de udio (CD-A) cumprem as especificaes e utilizam o logtipo correspondente. Os CD's com proteco anticpia no cumprem estas especificaes e no utilizam o logtipo correspondente, pelo qual poderiam ocorrer falhas na reproduo de algum destes CD's. No caso de CD's MP3 a velocidade de transmisso de MP3 dever oscilar entre 8 e 320 Kb/seg. possvel reproduzir CD's multisesso mas se os dados esto gravados em ambos formatos (CD-DA e MP3), sem distino de ordem, unicamente ser reproduzida a pista que contm dados de udio. Com outros formatos que no sejam ISO 9660 Nvel 1 ou Nvel 2, os nomes de ficheiros ou pastas podem no ser mostrados correctamente. Quando se d o nome a um ficheiro MP3 deve assegurar-se que a extenso .MP3 num ficheiro que no seja de MP3, a unidade no ser capaz de reconhecer o ficheiro e poder produzir rudo. No possvel reproduzir os ficheiros MP3 que se encontrem fora dos 8 primeiros nveis de subpastas. Para agilizar a leitura e procura recomenda-se utilizar somente 2 nveis. Os seguintes discos demoraro mais para iniciar a reproduo: Um disco gravado com muitos nveis de subpastas. Um disco gravado com Multisesso.

Medidas de precauo para o uso de equipamentos com laser
Os aparelhos com laser so agrupados segundo as normas DIN IEC 76 (CO) 6/VDE 0837 nas classes 1-4 em funo da sua segurana. O leitor de CDs da SEAT pertence classe 1. O laser utilizado nestes equipamentos de baixa intensidade e est isolado, no representando, portanto, nenhum perigo se o aparelho for utilizado correctamente. No abra a caixa do equipamento. O aparelho no tem peas, que possam ser reparadas pelo utilizador.
Cuidado!
Utilize somente CDs standard de 12 cm. No deve introduzir discos de formas atpicas nem os singles de 8 cm (tambm conhecidos como shape CD), porque podem danificar o mecanismo do leitor.
Conselhos sobre a limpeza de CDs

Utilizar na limpeza de CDs um pano macio e que no desfie. Limpe os discos em linha recta desde o centro at periferia. Se estiverem muito sujos, pode utilizar uma soluo de limpeza de CDs convencional ou alcool isoproplico.

Conselhos sobre o modo CD

Para garantir a melhor qualidade de reproduo do CD, recomenda-se que sejam apenas utilizados discos que no apresentem danos, riscos ou sujidade. No devem ser coladas etiquetas nos CDs. Guarde os CDs numa bolsa para CDs (pode encontrar uma, por exemplo, no Catlogo de Acessrios Originais SEAT) ou na respectiva caixa. No expor nunca um CD directamente aos raios solares.
Nunca utilize lquidos com gasolina, dissolventes ou produtos de limpeza de discos, caso contrrio o CD poderia ser danificado!
