Transdisciplinary theme: How We Organize Ourselves An inquiry into the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities; the structure and function of organizations; societal decision-making; economic activities and their impact on humankind and the environment. Big Idea: Economic activity relies on systems of production, exchange and consumption of goods and services but ultimately should be sustainable. Students will be organizing a proposal for a Green Star New Business Grant that helps provide funding for new businesses. The goal should be on creating a relevant, useful company that produces a product or offers a service that is realistic and contributes to bettering the human race and does not contribute to harmful or destructive practices that cannot be sustained into the future. Students should first identify a need in the world that is original and new. They need to research what goes into producing the product or supplying the service. They must make a flow chart of materials and other practical needs to get their idea off and running, make a prototype, etc. to be able to pitch their idea.

Interview
Name of Interviewee: ____________________________Date:_______________
Tips: Make sure the questions you ask are deep enough to get the interviewee to tell their story. You don`t want one-word answers. Record your interviewee`s responses on paper and with a recording device to help record the information. Your finished project should creatively tell your interviewee`s story and include your personal reflections on the interview. Make sure that you ask other questions as the need comes up; do not just stick to a script!
