Industrial Tests

In the electronic and precision machinery field, it often needs to inspect and machining the
components. But traditional microscopes are confined with shallow a depth of field and the object
must be observed from directly upward. It can neither get all the information from the entire
surface of object nor permits observation at any angle. GE5 digital microscope has large depth of
field and permits observation at all angles. It can also inspect the thick object conveniently
because of its super long working distance (6cm).

How is GE5 connected with PC?
GE5 is connected with PC through USB2.0 interface. What the user has to do is to insert USB
cable of GE5 into the USB2.0 interface of PC (those in the back panel of mainframe are preferred),
and no power supply wire is necessary.

How to do when it is reminded that “open interface fail” after GE5 is run?
GE5 has not been connected with PC, which makes it impossible for the program to find the
equipment. Please get them connected before running the software again.

How to do in case that no response is made after GE5 is run?

Maybe the program remains in the memory owing to the abnormal conclusion of the program. In
such a case, the user could conclude the operation of GE5_Viewer.exe in the windows task
manager or reboot PC and run GE5 again. If there is still no response, please contact the
technicians of this company.

How to do in case that no image is displayed after GE5 is run?

Direct X has not been installed or an outdated version is installed. Please install an updated Direct
X, and the version 9.0 or above is suggested.

How to do in case that the image is very coarse and the resolution could not be set up to be
1280*1024 after GE5 is run?
The reason is that the PC of the user doesn’t support USB2.0 as it does USB1.1. The user should
adopt a PC supporting USB2.0 to run GE5.

How to do in case that the image is unclear?

The reason is that focusing has not been done. The user could adjust the knob on the bracket of
GE5 Digital Microscope to make focusing and get clear images.

How to do in case that nothing except white colors could be seen in the images?
The problem is caused by the too high value of exposal. The exposal value should be adjusted to
the proper level, and the function of automatic white balance is suggested to adjust the exposal
value automatically.

How to cope with incorrect colors of images?

The reason is that no white balance adjustment has ever been done. White balance should be
adjusted before the observation of objects is started, and automatic white balance is suggested.

30
How to address ripples in the images?
The ripples are caused by alternating current lighting, such as indoors lighting sources with the
power supply of alternating current. The solutions are as follows:
1 Apply the instrument in an environment free of alternating current lighting.
2 Set up the current environment (such as select 50Hz in an indoor environment) within the
lighting box of software, and then run the program of automatic white balance.

How to cope with too large files generated by GE5 recording?

The reason is that no appropriate compression code has been selected. Since different encoding
formats would lead to different sizes of recorded files, the user should select appropriate encoding
formats before recording.
