PEPSI ICC AFRICA UNDER 19 DIVISION 1 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS. Uganda Cricket Association is pleased to announce the team that has been selected by the UCA Selection Committee to represent Uganda at the aforementioned Tournament running from 25th May to 2nd June 2013 in Uganda. The games will be played at Kyambogo, Lugogo and Entebbe Cricket Ovals. Uganda will seek to make its third appearance at the Under 19 World Cup after competing in the 2004 and 2006 versions held in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka respectively. Below is the selected team Selected team Players: Derrick Bakunzi (Capt), Abdalah Lubega, Simon Ssesazi, Faruk Ochimi (Vice Capt), Abdalah Sezooba, Lawrence Ssempijja, Mukaya Uzama, Ivan Baidhu, Mohammed Akmal, Varinder Singh, Emmanuel Hasahya, Simon Ayella, Arnold Otwan, Irishad Suleman. Reserves: Joseph Oyet, Ivan Kakande Officials: Coach: Davis Turinawe, Assistant Coach: John Trust Mayeku, Manager: Martin Ondeko 8 teams namely Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Zambia and Namibia will compete for the one available slot for qualification for the ICC Under 19 World Cup slated for United Arab Emirates next year. The teams will reside at Hotel Africana for the duration of the tournament. Nigeria will jet into the country on 21st May 2013 followed by Botswana the following day. Namibia and Zambia will report on 23rd May 2013.Sierra Leone, Kenya and Tanzania will arrive on 24th May 2013. Once again, we are glad that the ICC and Pepsi have teamed up as the main sponsors to the tournament. They are taking care of the teams travels, full board accommodation, officials allowances, awards etc.
