Electrical work will be carried out by trained and Supervisor competent electricians. Work on live conductors, or on electrical equipment, which has been made dead, will be carried out only under an appropriate permit to work procedure.
Safe means of access will be provided for electricians required to work at height e.g. ladders, scaffold towers etc.

Insulated tools will be used in order to carry out electrical work. Grinding. Fire / Explosion. Wheel burst. Flying objectives. Electric shocks. Grinders to be maintained in good condition and Supervisor / Operators. inspected prior to use. Guards to be fitted to grinders.
Changing of abrasive wheels to be carried out by trained and authorized personnel using proper disc spanners. Grinding operations in live plant areas will be carried out in accordance with the permit to work requirements.

Grinding operations will be controlled in order to prevent the risk of injury to other personnel from sparks/metal splinters. Housekeeping in the areas at grinding operations to be maintained to a high level. Personnel carrying out grinding work will wear

suitable eye protection and hearing protection. Supervisors will ensure that all equipment put to Supervisor / Operators use, or being used, complies with all relevant safety standards. Supervisors shall ensure that a safe system of work is implemented and personnel are aware of the systems procedures. Employers shall be isolated prior to any work or maintenance is carried out on electrical equipment. Personnel shall ensure that all equipment is given through visual examination. Employees shall ensure that all waste materials are of after use in the correct manner. Personnel shall ensure that combustible materials are not stored near conductors. Sufficient fire fighting appliances shall be located around the premises and personnel shall be trained in the use and awareness of fire emergency procedures.
