Many women die every year because of medical complications resulting from abortion, and mothers who previously underwent the operation have high risk of giving premature birth in the next pregnancy. It has also been proven that abortion greatly increases the chance of developing breast cancer. An April 2009 study by Jessica Dolle found that "a statistically significant 40% increased risk for women who have abortions" exists. Aside from this, abortion also brings negative impact to the patients psychological health as it has been linked to various suicidal deaths caused by mental anguish. Moreover, teenagers who abort are two to four times more likely to commit suicide compared to adults. Lastly, adoption is a more viable option. Teenage girls who become pregnant are not yet fit to take care of the baby. Most of them try to seek abortion out of financial difficulties, but it is not the only solution to the problem. A lot of childless couples are struggling to have a baby, and a mom who is planning to have an abortion can be a great blessing to them. Furthermore, you will have a chance to visit your son, knowing that he is living a bright future and treated fairly by his new family. Having said these, abortion is seen by many people as a procedure that needs to be banned because of many reasons. Pregnant women looking forward to have an abortion have the choice not do so unless their life is in imminent danger. As much as possible, couples should look for more viable options before attempting an abortion.
