Dasal Awit: Prayer and Praise (Spirituality for Choir Members March 15, 2013 10:00 11:30 AM PS 307

TIME & VENUE:

I.

RATIONALE: To sing with hearts on fire with love for God and for our brothers and sisters is the ideal that every UH member aspires to realize. It for this end that Usbong Himig views its mission as music ministry that aims to achieve greater and more dynamic participation in the celebration of Sacred Liturgy.

II.

OBJECTIVE: a. To help UH members realize the link between Sacred Music and Sacred Liturgy by linking prayer and song as one common thread for enhancing Church worship. b. To help members express their deepest longing to commune with God in songs, silence and silent contemplation. c. To assist members in growing and maturing in their spirituality and commitment to the Music Ministry as Usbong Himig Members.

III.

LOGISTICS: a. Presentation of the concept paper to the CCF staff(Program Coordinator, Youth Ministry and Assistant Director, Campus Ministry) for comments b. Submission of a copy to the Office of the CCF Director for approval and signature c. The adviser meets with the officers for the discussion of the details of the activity/program with their assignments d. The adviser with the officers will take care of the preparation of the venue and other things that will be needed for the activity e. The members will be asked to bring notebook and ballpen for taking down notes.

The Usbong Himig Organization intends to hold a follow-up activity for the previous two seminars, which aims to apply insights learned for the spiritual growth of its members. The activity, entitled Dasal Awit, is a contemplative praying over Sacred Scripture aided by praise and worship songs, with moments of silent meditation in between.
