Description
Thomsit DY is specially designed for smoothing and levelling for the mineral based subfloors such as cement/sand screed and concrete. Thomsit DY can be applied 3 - 10 mm in one application by pump or trowel application. Thomsit DY is suitable for industrial use such as car park, warehouse, commercial area to provide a wear resistant surface or prior to the installation of epoxy and polyurethane coating. For interior use only. A protection coating is recommended to apply on top to extend the stain resistant properties.
Properties
Special cement with selected additives. Very low emission product. Self-levelling, fast setting and fast drying. Set to foot traffic in approximately 6 hours. High final strength.
Substrates
The substrate must be free from structural defects, sound i.e. of adequate compressive (C20) and tensile strength, permanently dry and free from laitance, dust, surface treatments or contamination, which would impair the bond of the Thomsit product(s). It may be necessary to mechanically prepare the surface of the substrate. Prime absorbent, porous subfloors with Thomsit R777 multi-purpose primer, diluted 1:1 with water. Ensure the correct Thomsit primer is selected prior to the application of this product if in doubt please contact Thomsit Technical Services.
Application
Thomsit DY must be mixed in a clean container with clean water (5.5 ltrs to 25 kg bag of powder). Mix with an electric mixer (>700W and <600rpm) and suitable attachment. Mix to a lump-free consistency. Let it mature for approx. 3 minutes and mix again shortly. Apply the product to the required thickness using a suitable finishing trowel. Alternatively, Thomsit DY can be applied with a proprietary continuous feed mixer pump. . Avoid drafts and direct sunlight. Warm ambient conditions, warm powder and/or mixing water will reduce the working and setting times; conversely, in cold conditions working and setting times will be extended.
