Please share your experience, how the performance of a cooling fan is effected whenever replacing a motor with different rpm ratings? for an example, the existing motor is having 2910rpm(rated) supplying 8kPa air pressure for cooling purpose and if we have a motor with 2860rpm(rated), will it perform as the existing one? Assume all other rating(Hp, voltage, Rated current, etc.) of both motors are same. 9 days ago Like CommentFollow Flag More 12 comments
Follow Rogerio Sandoval Rogerio Sandoval Rezende Yes will work fine, because the difference between rpm is too low, only when the difference is under 40% low to the rated, the problems will apear, in this case you will need use a forced coooling fan. 9 days ago Like2

Follow tade tade wanclik all the characteristics of any machine depend of the temperature.you will find ri2 in the equations, r is changing with the temperature and has an impact, z is also changing

Follow Jerry Jerry Rzewnicki If you have a pressure gauge on the fan you'll see the difference. 2 days ago Like

Follow M'Hamed M'Hamed Merabet In your example the cooling system will not be affected, since the ns synchronous speed will remain same at 3000rpm. special thanks for Tade I'm still learning from u. regards.
