Purpose of the process


The purpose of the Deploying Objectives process is to drive performance in the business by setting stretched targets that if met will deliver business results that outperform the market. This is done through objectives for the individual that are set for the next 12 month. Deploying Objectives drives performance through Aligning business and individual objectives, which improves focus on how individuals and teams deliver value to the business Setting objectives that are market-focused and include stretched performance targets, which will significantly improve the performance level of the team and business unit

Outcome of the process

All individuals will have 2-3 core, specific, stretched personal Objectives, KPIs and Targets before the year starts. The individual objectives will be linked to the overall team objectives, and include what success looks like for a score of 3-performance

Deploying Objectives Process Overview


1 Agreement on the teams customers, products and value drivers Step 1 Optional Team Value Drivers (1-2 hours) Present the Team Objectives, and link them to the overall strategy Agree on the teams customers, products / services and their attributes This step is optional but recommended ie. if the team is newly established Input can be different depending on business environment e.g. the definition of customers can be adjusted to local business setting lingo Identify possibilities to drive value within the team

2 Individual preparation of Objectives, KPIs and targets

Step 2 Preparation (7 days period) The individual prepares a suggestion of individual objectives, KPIs and targets based on Step 1

Ensuring individual objectives are linked to the team & that targets are stretched

Step 3 Objectives calibration (2-3 hours) Individual presentation of suggested objectives, KPIs and targets Feedback on relevance of the objectives and KPIs from the team Feedback on realism of the targets Enter drafted Objectives into the webPA

4 Final sign off on individual objectives

Step 4 Finalisation (Max 7 days period) The leader and employee finalises the objectives Objectives are finalised in the webPA
