"Conventionalthinkingsaysthatthe 35 emissionofhumanmadenonCFC gasessuchascarbondioxidehas 104 mainlycontributedtoglobalwarming. Butwehaveobserveddatagoing backtotheIndustrialRevolutionthat convincinglyshowsthatconventionalunderstandingiswrong," saidQingBinLu,aprofessorofphysicsandastronomy, biologyandchemistryinWaterloo'sFacultyofScience."In fact,thedatashowsthatCFCsconspiringwithcosmicrays causedboththepolarozoneholeandglobalwarming." "Mostconventionaltheoriesexpectthatglobaltemperatures willcontinuetoincreaseasCO2levelscontinuetorise,as theyhavedonesince1850.What'sstrikingisthatsince2002, globaltemperatureshaveactuallydeclinedmatchinga declineinCFCsintheatmosphere,"ProfessorLusaid."My calculationsofCFCgreenhouseeffectshowthattherewas globalwarmingbyabout0.6Cfrom1950to2002,butthe earthhasactuallycooledsince2002.Thecoolingtrendisset tocontinueforthenext5070yearsastheamountofCFCsin theatmospherecontinuestodecline." Thefindingsarebasedonindepthstatisticalanalysesof observeddatafrom1850uptothepresenttime,Professor Lu'scosmicraydrivenelectronreaction(CRE)theoryof ozonedepletionandhispreviousresearchintoAntarcticozone depletionandglobalsurfacetemperatures. "Itwasgenerallyacceptedformorethantwodecadesthatthe Earth'sozonelayerwasdepletedbythesun'sultravioletlight induceddestructionofCFCsintheatmosphere,"hesaid."But incontrast,CREtheorysayscosmicraysenergyparticles originatinginspaceplaythedominantroleinbreakingdown ozonedepletingmoleculesandthenozone." Lu'stheoryhasbeenconfirmedbyongoingobservationsof cosmicray,CFC,ozoneandstratospherictemperaturedata overseveral11yearsolarcycles."CREistheonlytheorythat providesuswithanexcellentreproductionof11yearcyclic variationsofbothpolarozonelossandstratosphericcooling," saidProfessorLu."Afterremovingthenaturalcosmicray effect,mynewpapershowsapronouncedrecoveryby~20% oftheAntarcticozonehole,consistentwiththedeclineof CFCsinthepolarstratosphere."
