3. Motivation Observe the video of vehicles in a highway. What do you say about the flow of the traffic? What will happen if one of the vehicles will use the opposite lane? Do you know that our blood inside the body flow in a one-way traffic?

B. Activity 1. Activity Pupils play the game by team. (Please refer to the Activity Sheet) Publishing of outputs and Reporting 2. Analysis Interactive game quiz is shown

1. How many chambers does the heart have? 2. What is the movement of blood through the heart and body called? 3. Where does the beating sound of your heart come from? 4. What does the heart provides the body during blood circulation? 5. The atria are the upstairs chambers of the heart. What do you call the downstairs chambers of the heart? 6. What wall separates the left side and right side of the heart? 7. What parts act like doors that control blood flow in the heart? 8. What organ removes waste from blood? 9. How can you keep your heart strong? 10. What do you call the tubes which carry the blood back to the heart? 3. Abstraction According to our activity? How do you blood circulates throughout the body? 4. Application Use the arrow to trace the path of blood throughout the body.

ACTIVITY SHEET MOVEMENT OF BLOOD

I.

Objective: To trace the path of blood as it flows from the heart to the different parts of the body.

II.

Materials: Name Tags, Labeled parts of the body: Lung, Left auricle, Right auricle, Left ventricle, Right ventricle, Strips of red and blue paper to represent oxygen and carbon dioxide. Procedure: 1. Select 6 members from each team to be pinned with name tags. 2. Have the 4 chambers stand side by side as shown in the diagram with their legs apart to allow the 4 players to crawl in between. 3. Have the right chambers face the body station and the left chamber faces the lung station. 4. Have the body hold the blue strips and the lung the red strips. LUNG 5. At the signal GO first player runs to get the blue strips from the body and crawls under the right chamber, run to the lung to give the blue strips at the same time getting the red strips. 6. The player returns back crawling under the left chambers, LA runs to the RV body leaving the red strips and go back to the end of the line. LV finished. RA 7. The next player follows and so on until all the players have The first to finish wins. 8. Observe keenly the path taken by the players and the structures and organs passes along the path. BODY 9. Illustrate the movement of the blood. Observation: 1. What role did the players play? PLAYERS ( 5 2. What path did the player take in going to the lung? steps away from body) to the body? 3. What did the blood get from the body? 4. What did it bring to the body?
