Initiallandpreparationusingdrylandtillage Plowthefieldimmediatelyafterharvestorafterthe soilhasdriedenoughusingafourwheeltractor mountedwitharotaryormultipletrailingdiscplowto aeratethesoil,reduceweedsandotherpests,and incorporateorganicmaterialsintothesoil. 2. Replowing/rotavationandsideplowing Twodaysbeforereplowing/rotavating,irrigatethe fielduntilitissaturatedtosoftenitandallowweed seedsanddroppedriceseedstogerminate. Reploworrotavatethefieldusingahandtractoror 2040hpfourwheeltractor,respectively,21days beforetransplanting/directseeding(DBT/S)tobreak bigsoilclods.Turnoverthesoil,andincorporate organicmaterialsintothesoil.

    Afourwheeltractorcanbeusedtobreakbigsoilclods, turnoverthesoil,andincorporateorganicmaterials intothesoil.

    Properlevelingofthefieldfacilitatesthemanagement ofweeds,water,andgoldenapplesnail.Italso maximizesefficiencyoffertilizerappliedinthefield.

    Conductsideplowing(atleasttwopasses)usingahandtractorormoldboardplowpulledbyacarabaoafter replowingorrerotavatingtobreakandturnoverthesoilnearthedikes. 3. Harrowingandleveling Harrowthefieldthriceusingahandtractorequipped withacombharrowtobreakandpuddleclodsofsoil andincorporateorganicmaterialsintothesoil thoroughly. Firstharrowingisat14daysbefore transplanting/sowing(DBT/S). Secondharrowingisat7DBT/S. Thirdharrowingisat12DBT/S. Levelthefieldthoroughlyusingawoodenplank pulledbyapowertillerafterthethirdharrowingto Harrowingusinga handtractortobreakandpuddlesoil attainuniformwaterdepth.Thisfacilitateswaterand clodsandincorporateorganicmaterials goldenapplesnailmanagement,helpssuppressweed growth,andmaximizesefficiencyoffertilizerinthe field. Ifnecessary,constructcanaletsforproperdrainage andirrigationafterleveling. Properlevelingofthefieldsolvesmorethan50%of theproblemsinriceproduction.
