Comments for Domain One:


Routinely Audrey makes sure that there are objective and MBC everyday. Sometime objectives are too basic (would like them to be on the higher end of Blooms). Audrey is making a lot of progess on scaffolding information and graduatally releasing resonsibility during lessons. I would love to see her using the student data more to pull small groups. In each of these areas she is pogressing. In order for her to be Basic + in all areas they need to be more consistent and not prompted by the mentor. Audrey needs to take more initative when implementing the aspects of Domain 1.

Comments for Domain Two:


This is the area in which Audrey struggles the most. She is making progress in management however, it needs to be a lot more consistent. Sweating the small stuff has been a constant battles for us and impedes on her ability to effectively be completely successful in Domain 2. The kids have grown to respect her when they know she is serious and will back up her word with positive and negative consequences. When she knows the content, her "Joy" factor is evident but when she is unsure of the content her lack of confidence is also evident. Overall, the lack of consistent practice in this area is a unsatisfactory +.

Comments for Domain Three:

Audrey makes sure that there is an exit slip and a DO now for each of her lesson. She receives accurate data on students knowledge each day with the classroom response system. I have seen a lot of progress in the I/we/you area with her lessons which makes them more concise and easier for students to follow, however she needs to continue to work on teach talk time. (reiterating the same thing over and over is time consuming and confusing). All areas of this domain, she has tried but is not consistent in her practice of them on a daily basis.

This is Audrey's strongest domain. She is very receptive when given feedback and tries her best each and everyday. She takes a lot of initiative when it comes to paperwork and maintaining records for students. She struggles with using data and having data talk with students even though she has made progress throughout the school year. Taking initiative to contact parents when students academic progress is unsatisfactory needs to happen more often.

RESIDENT REFLECTION BY DOMAIN


Domain One: Planning & Preparation
I feel more confident in my ability to prepare and plan for a lesson. I need to work on time management, often I do not have time to implement my small groups because I am helping single students with their work. Checking for understanding before releasing them to work independently will also help me in this domain.

Domain Two: Instruction


This is an area that I struggle with. By being more consistant and sweating the small stuff I have seen a huge improvement. I will continue working on this domain everyday to become a more effective and efficient teacher.

Domain Three: Instruction


I feel like I have come a long way with most strategies in this domain, but pacing is definitley something I need to work on. By sending a sense of urgency to my students, I think that I will have less problems in my behaviour managment and will also have more time to meet with small groups.

Domain Four: Professionalism


I think I could improve in this domain by having discussions with students about their progress. This will also give me more data for small group instruction. Having more frequent discussions about how the students are doing will also help motivate the student to work harder.

As your mentor, what is going We have an open line of communication. Ms. Miller is perceptive to what I struggle with and is always willing to discuss ways I can improve/what I well that I can do more of? am doing well. As your mentor, where would you like more support?
