Planting Trees
Planting trees in the back yard does not require submittal of an AAMHP. An AAMHP is required to be submitted before planting trees in the front or side yards. Planting any trees within the HLEOA street property is prohibited without first obtaining ACC approval by submitting an AAMHP. The cutting and removal of trees located on the homeowners property does not require submittal of an AAMHP. Vegetable gardens that are located in the back or side yards do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Vegetable gardens must not be placed in the front yard and when placed in the back or side yards, should preferably be located out of public view.(4) Gardens shall be of a size that Is appropriate for the lot. Antennas and satellite dishes installed in accordance with #AG17 do not require ACC approval. Routine maintenance of exterior walkway, landscape, or house accent lighting does not need ACC approval. ACC approval is required for the addition of new exterior walkway, landscape, or house lighting fixtures that are located in or shine light in public view.(4) Low-voltage accent or landscape lighting that is concealed from public view by back or side yard solid panel fencing does not require submittal of an AAMHP. Installation of a new below-ground lawn or planter sprinkler or drip irrigation system or routine maintenance of an existing irrigation system does not need ACC approval. Backflow control devices for irrigation systems shall be located or screened so they are not exposed to public view.(4) Hoses, hose reels, hose pots, and related hose accessories do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Rain gutters, downspouts, and related accessories do not require submittal of an AAMHP as long as the color of the gutters and downspouts match the existing primary or trim color of the house. Rain barrels or other types of rain harvesting systems that are located in the back or side yard that are not in public view do not require submittal of an AAMHP.(4) Rain barrels or other types of rain harvesting systems that are located in the back or side yard in public view do not require submittal of an AAMHP as long as the color is in harmony with the color scheme of the house and the size is a maximum of 75 gallons. Rain barrels and other types of rain harvesting systems are not permitted in the front yard. Composting devices that are located in the back yard that are not in public view do not require submittal of an AAMHP.(4) Composting devices that are located in the back yard in public view do not require submittal of an AAMHP as long as the color is in harmony with the color scheme of the house and the size is a maximum of 100 gallons. Composting devices are not permitted in the front or side yards. Basketball goals that meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG09 do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Non-permanent play toys, equipment, and temporary portable play structures that meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG15 do not require submittal of an AAMHP.

Yard art objects that are less than or equal to two (2) feet tall and meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG03 do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Flags of the United States or the State of Texas that meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG10 do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Address markers that meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG16 do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Signs that meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG11 do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Solar screens that meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG12 do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Holiday decorations that meet the requirements of ACC Guideline #AG18 do not require submittal of an AAMHP. Repairs to the house, fence, or other yard items using materials of the same appearance and color do not require submittal of an AAMHP.

Completed AAMHPs should be mailed to Architectural Review Committee, P.O. Box 219223, Houston, TX 77218 or delivered to Architectural Review Committee, 15995 N. Barkers Landing, Suite 162, Houston, Texas 77079. For assistance or questions regarding the form, you may call PCMI Customer Care at 281-870-0585. Completed AAMHPs may also be faxed to the Architectural Review Committee at 281-504-1381 or may be scanned and emailed to customercare@pcmi-us.com. (2) As provided in Section 1, Article IV of the CC&Rs, the ACC shall have full and complete authority to approve construction of any improvement on any Lot, and its judgment shall be final and conclusive. Homeowners who make improvements without submitting an AAMHP in accordance with this guideline have pre-approval of the ACC only if the improvement meets the requirements of this guideline. The final judgment of whether an improvement meets the requirements of this guideline shall rest solely with the ACC. If a homeowner has doubts whether an improvement may be installed without submitting an AAMHP, it is advised that the homeowner submit an AAMHP for the improvement to obtain official ACC approval. If the ACC determines that any improvement that was installed without an approved AAMHP does not meet this guideline, the homeowner shall be responsible for making corrections to comply with this guideline or removing the installed improvement. (3) References to CC&Rs in parentheses are to the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions, Heron Lakes Estates. (4) Public view is defined as being visible to anyone that is on any street in the subdivision or anyone on the golf course. Objects obstructed from public view by solid panel fences or other solid objects are not considered to be within public view while the fence or other solid object remains in place, but please keep in mind that if the fence or other solid object is ever removed in the future, the objects may come into public view and must comply with these requirements.
