June 6, 2013 Honorable Alexandra Smith Chairman, College Republican National Committee 1500 K Street NW, Suite 325 Washington, DC 20005 Dear Chairman Smith: On behalf of the 2013-2014 leadership of the College Republican Federation of Rhode Island, I am delighted to offer you our unequivocal support of your candidacy for Chairman of the College Republican National Committee. Since succeeding Chairman Emeritus Shriver in March, you have provided exemplary leadership in a time when there is a significant need to effectively market conservatism to young voters. Governor Romneys disappointing defeat last November exposed a considerable age gap in support for Republican candidates. Personally, I am immensely concerned with the proportion of young voters who casted a ballot in favor of candidates who espoused a big government policy platform in 2012. The Republican Partys ability to capture this constituency will be pivotal to the future success of the advancement of conservative policies that advocate for individual liberty, free enterprise, world-class educational opportunities, and strong communities. In your most recent publication Grand Old Party for a Brand New Generation you exemplify judicious political prowess by calling for a substantial overhaul in the way that the Republican Party broadcasts its message. Your acknowledgement that the Republican Party must cross apply its message of freedom and prosperity to a diverse constituency is congruent with the view of college Republicans in the Ocean State, as we seek to grow the institutional influence of the Republican Party in the 2014 election cycle. In lieu of my likely absence from many of the convention exercises due to a conference that I must attend for the Alexander Hamilton Society, it is apropos that at this time I affirm my staunch advocacy of your continued leadership. In my absence, I have directed the delegation from Rhode Island to support your candidacy for Chairman of the CRNC. I look forward to having you as a substantive partner on the national level as we continue on our mission to expand conservatism in Rhode Island. Regards,

Justin Braga Chairman, College Republican Federation of Rhode Island Brown University 16
