This course is intended to reinforce and equip the learners ability in confronting emergency situations that are life threatening. It includes variety of measures to counteract the perplexing menace of crisis phenomenon. Medical emergency, first aid and basic training serve as the one of the focal point in control and prevention factors of serious casualty. It also covers water technique, for existence in order to preserve and rescue human life. Consequently, it provides the evidence of willingness to help and develop promotion of confidence by demonstration of competence. 2 Units 2 hours per week, 36 hours per semester Def Tac 122 BS Criminology II First Semester Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to: 1. facilitate a better understanding of NSUs Vision and Mission as well as the philosophy, goals and objectives of the college of Art and Sciences.

Terminal Competencies

2. define first aid, emergency transfer, wound, burns, poisoning, muscle injuries, common emergencies, water survival, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and others important concepts in understanding the course. 3. recognize the role and social responsibility of first aider and rescuer. 4. develop proper relation with the Government in Crisis Management and emergency safety measures. 5. be vigilant and keen observer to a crisis situation that is life threatening. 6. demonstrate the proper application and procedures of emergency rescue in the water. 7. prepare students for a career of law enforcement in life saving and safety measures concept.
