Instructions for Meditation You may choose to enhance the effects of this music by meditating in the postures shown. First, make sure that you have a peaceful place where you wont be interrupted. Sit on the oor with the legs crossed and spine straight keeping the body relaxed. You may choose to sit on a pillow or, alternatively, in a chair with the weight of both feet equally distributed on the ground. Keep the neck straight and the chin level with the oor. It is important not to curve the neck back. Keep your whole body, including the face, relaxed while sitting in the posture. Follow the instructions included for each specic mantra. For all meditations: Breath deeply through the nose. Continue for 3 to 62 minutes. When nished, inhale deeply. Hold briey. Exhale and relax. You may also choose to sing along with the music. The legacy of Mantra and Mudra and the sacred science of the sound current was shared and codied by Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga, and PHD in the psychology of communication. Each of these musical meditations opens an inner gateway to your spirit. They reach beyond limitations to tap the sacred power of the Word. The use of special hand and eye positions with the mantra is called mudra. Each mudra is a seal. It enhances, speeds and assures the impact of the mantra. The beautiful songs in this album provide the rare opportunity to hear Yogi Bhajans profound and graceful English interpretations of sacred Gurumukhi mantras. In 1998, Yogi Bhajan personally requested that these specic mantras be put to music and recorded. In the process of creating the music, he provided poetic English translations that capture the essence of the mantra as well as specic mudras to heighten their effect. This collection of mantras reminds us of our grace and sacredness allowing us to move through life with greater ease, assurance and peace.
