WE HAD AN IDEA in recent times ADYC (Armagh Diocesan Youth Commission) & Cd (Clogher don Oige) attended a leadership development course at Greenhill YMCA Centre, Newcastle. We were totally inspired by the great outdoors and the facilities on offer. The idea for a summer camp was born. The camp would provide opportunities for boys and girls aged 12-14 to come together, have fun, make friends and to grow in faith.

Since the restructure of the ADYC in 2011 we have recognised the need for a youth ministry strategy and a vision has been developed. Parental Information
Leaders
All leaders have been vetted and fully trained. All leaders are experienced youth workers. Leaders will ensure a safe, caring and fun environment for participants. Leaders must adhere to diocesan safeguarding policies, procedures and code of conduct. Participants will have an individual group leader to whom they can bring any concerns. We aim to take 40 young people aged 12 to 14 to the camp. Accompanying them will be 6 to 8 leaders, ensuring a ratio of at least 1 leader to every 7 participants.

A contract, guidelines and rules will be agreed with pilgrims at the rst meeting of leaders and participants. Leaders and participants must adhere to these agreed contracts.

Emergencies

Senior leaders will have emergency contact mobile phones should parents need to contact leaders in the case of an emergency.
