A Wedding Prayer-December 29, 2012

My brother-in-law -asked me to pray before the reception during their wedding dayunfortunately -I was downed by UTI -and my wife Mabelle read this for me the Tagalog stanza is a translation of the English words in brackets: A Wedding Prayer Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Anak at Espiritu Santo Mapagpalang Ama at kataastaasang Diyos Kami po ay magkakasama ngayon Upang ipagdiwang ang pagibig at pag-iisa Nila Joseph at Lani (Ever present Lord and loving Father We have gathered here today To celebrate the love and commitment That has united Joseph and Lani In a wonderful bond of marriage.) A Prayer for the Food

Panginoon nandito ang aming pamilya at mga kaibigan Nagpapasalamat para sa pagmamahal na nag-uugnay sa amin Sa Kapayapaan na ibinigay nyo sa amin sa araw na ito (Lord, behold our family and friends here assembled. We thank you for the love that unites us, for the peace given to us this day,) for the health, the work, the food, and the bright skies that make our lives delightful; for our love ones and friends now with us. We pray your blessings on the food that you have provided for us and thank you for all who have prepared it for our nourishment. Kayo po ang mag gawad ng pagpapala kina Joseph at Lani

at ang kanilang mga anak na Sila Bianca at Ashley Kasama na ang mga pamilya at mga kaibigan Ngayon narito

(May your blessings descend upon Joseph and Lani and their children , Their relatives and friends Who join us here today.) We sincerely pray that you bless them With a love to last forever.

In sickness and in health may they find your strength In doubts and troubles may they see your light May their love continue to grow with each new challenge May they always find strength in each other May their love for each other grow everyday. May they always show care and concern for each other, sharing joys, sorrows and burdens. May they always appreciate each other, and when required, forgive each other, as you have so freely forgiven them.

Father, protect them from the evils of this world, from the evil of temptation. Lord, in troubled times, bless them with your strength, for your grace alone is sufficient for them. May they learn to depend on you and look to you for guidance. May their children be bless as well And when their children sleep

And they look into each others eyes, May they always feel what they feel today. May they live each moment of each day for each other.

Benediction: Before our Father in heaven that according to the riches of his glory May He grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the believers what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. We pray in all of this through the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
