…Poverty means poverty of knowledge. Prime minister Canakya Pandit used to live in a thatched house or
cottage but he was the dictator of India in the days of Emperor Candra Gupta. Mahatma Gandhi your political
Guru voluntarily accepted the ways of the so called poor Indians and still he was the dictator of India's destiny.
But was he actually poverty sticken on account of his plain living with the primitive charkha? He was always
proud of his spiritual knowledge. Therefore it is the spiritual knowledge which makes a man really rich and not
the radio set or the motor car. Please therefore try to understand this position of Indian culture and try to give it
to the western brothers in the prescribed standard method of the liberated persons and that will be an exchange
of Indian culture with western material advancement and necessarily bring in a happy life in the peaceful
world….

Steel City Rourkela Hails VOICE (18th Aug)
Rourkela is situated in northwestern Orissa and is the guest house and saw the video of VOICE.
better known as “STEEL CITY”. NIT Rourkela is
situated amidst a lush green campus surrounded by
hills and forests. The institute has ranked among the
top 10 NIT’s and has student strength of 1500.
KR Patel Professor in Mech Engg dept invited
VOICE & took the responsibility of organizing the
seminar also. Most amazing thing was Director Dr.
Sunil Kumar Sarangi who is a good friend of Prof
Kanchan Chowdhury (Cryogenic Dept IIT KGP-
VOICE alumni) knew about VOICE before we met
him. In his words “VOICE is best suited for guiding
the misguided youths of modern age on right path”.
Caitanya Charan Pr gave an amazing Seminar on .
“MIND YOUR MIND”. All the 400 first years & He was very happy and requested Caitanya Charan

Srestha Program for Toppers of
PICT and BVP Colleges (26-Aug)
A special program was conducted for the 1st year
toppers of BVP & PICT Engg colleges at Mayapur
VOICE. HG Radheshyam Pr conducted a session
on "Self Management”. He based his presentation
on simple & thoughtful analogy of "Law of the
school"(cram the books-vomit in exam-get good
marks/job = short term success) & "Law of the
farm" (sow a seed-water it-wait patiently-get
fruits/flowers = long term success).
He explained the different levels of self
management - Physical, Mental, Social & Spiritual.
He concluded by explaining that the Root of Self
management is Self control and the six urges to be
regulated. Students were sitting on edge to hear for
around 2 hrs and enthusiastically responded to the
questions asked by Radheshyam Pr. After the
session, prizes were distributed to all the toppers by
the esteemed guests, Prof. Janardhan Chitode(HOD
Electronics Bharati College of Engg), Srivatscandra
Das (Project Manager, lntinfotech), Nikhil Joshi
(Co-Director Arrowhead Consulting), Shyamaras Pr
(Project Manger, IBM) and Amol Katkar (Senior
Consultant, Semantic)
Prof. Chitode then addressed the students
congratulating them for their top performance in
their academics. He acclaimed that “the students
attending VOICE programs are very sharp in their
studies & they lead a life of values and principles”.
He also stressed the importance of mind control for
the modern youth. The students eagerly interacted
with the VOICE members and most of the students
registered for the upcoming Spiritual Scientist
certificate course.

Special seminars in the Campus of
PICT College Pune (23rd to 28th Aug)
1) Proactive Leadership- The series of seminars
started with “Proactive Leadership” by Tulasi Pr
(Team Leader Tata Tech). He explained that, it is
not what happens to us, but how we react to what
happens to us is what hurts us. An efficient leader
chooses to respond pro-actively - based on chosen
values (e.g. tolerance, self-discipline) rather than re-
actively - allowing the stimulus to dictate his
response (anger, conditions around, etc.).
A God conscious person never blames anything –
circumstances, conditions or other people for his
actions. He is aware that he has chosen to respond
pro-actively rather than re-actively. So then the next
step is: how do we develop such values and subdue
vices? Lord Krishna in BG 2.64 addresses this
question – give up attachment to wrong things and
aversion to right things. The session also covered
how being in the mode of goodness improves
efficiency, nurtures values and rewards maturity.
To situate ourselves more in the mode of goodness,
4 tips were mentioned -
-satvik diet - fruits, milk, grains, vegetables,
natural products & sanctified karma-free diet, etc.,
-satvik dress - simple dress that does not provoke
passion,
-satvik environment - taking out time to meditate
on God by chanting His names and being
contemplative about ultimate purpose of life, and
-satvik association - company of saintly people and
spiritual literatures like the Bhagavad Gita

2) Practical tips for Positive thinking-
VibhavKrishna Pr (Regional Manger-Sandvick Asia
Ltd) presented the seminar. He told in today’s
world training modules deal with only the externals
of a person like how to shake hands, smile etc, but

they lack the most important aspect of the
personality like character build up, integrity etc.
We should always count the blessings of God upon
us. Happiness is nothing but a state of mind in
which one is satisfied with what God has given him.
This greatly enhances the positive mentality of a
person.
Answering to the question of a student he
mentioned solution of a problem is, “to raise
oneself higher from the gross level solution to more
subtler one and Mantra Meditation is a very
effective means of doing it especially the chanting
of Hare Krsna Maha Mantra which is an
authorized medicine for all kinds of distress in this
age of chaos and confusion.”
3) Self Management-The seminar was presented
by VOICE alumni, Dr Rampriya Pr (M.D) -
Lecturer Bharati Medical College Pune. He
explained the different levels of self management -
Physical, Mental, Social & Spiritual. He concluded
by explaining that the Root of Self management is
Self control and the six urges to be regulated.
Ultimately Lord is the controller and one has to take
shelter of Lord and his bonafide representatives by
chanting the Holy names of Lord.
By seeing the amazing response of the seminar
Radheshyam Pr said,” When I was going to preach
in the early days during 1996, PICT had a record of
producing some of the first and best devotees like
Premanidhi Pr, Krishnakishore Pr, Rasikananda Pr
who are in leading positions today; after that there
were restrictions for preaching due to busy schedule
of boys and dislike for sadhus.
Now PICT is offering red carpet welcome to
VOICE as powerful corporate preachers dressed in
pant-shirt. So I want more and more of our pant-
shirt devotee leaders to get prepared to take Lord
Caitanya's movement into colleges & companies in
the time to come in a very big way.” Almost 100
boys attended the seminar.
