What kinds of jobs will be available in 10 years? How are the needs for skills and competences changing all over the Europe? Is the right education and training being provided today to help Europeans find a job in the future?

To advance to the next step in your career, it's important that you keep yourself educated A nonprofit research center that specializes in long-term forecasting recently released a report detailing the 10 key skills that will be relevant to the workforce of the future

1. Sense-making
The ability to determine the deeper meaning or significance of what is being expressed; skill that help us create unique insights critical to decision making

2. Social intelligence

The ability to connect to others in a deep and direct way, to sense and stimulate reactions and desired interactions, to quickly assess the emotions of those around them and adapt their words, tone and gestures accordingly.

3. Novel and adaptive thinking


Proficiency at thinking and coming up with solutions and responses beyond that which is rote or rule-based; these will be at a premium in the next years, particularly as automation and offshoring continue.

4. Cross-cultural competency
The ability to operate in different cultural settings, demanding specific content linguistic skills, adaptability to changing circumstances and an ability to sense and respond to new contexts.

5. Computational thinking
The ability to translate vast amounts of data into abstract concepts and to understand databased reasoning

The ability to critically assess and develop content that uses new media forms and to leverage these media for persuasive communication
