The Lord be with you and also with you We rejoice today with the family and friends of Mark and Amy as they bring Tyler Luke for Baptism. God forgives us in Christ and heals us by the Holy Spirit. Let us as wayward children return to God and confess our sins. Father, you come to meet us when we return to you: Lord, have mercy Lord, have mercy. God our saviour, look on this wounded world in pity and in power; hold us fast to the promises of peace won for us by your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. Do not be ashamed to confess the faith of Christ crucified. Fight valiantly as a disciple of Christ against sin, the world and the devil and remain faithful to Christ to the end of your lives. May almighty God deliver you from the powers of darkness, restore in you the image of his glory and lead you in the light and obedience of Christ. Amen

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Praise the God of all creation who keeps his promise for ever We thank you for the gift of water to sustain, refresh and cleanse all life. Over the water the Holy Spirit moved in the beginning of creation. Through water you led the Israelites from slavery in Egypt to freedom in the promised land. In water Jesus was baptised by John and anointed with the Holy Spirit to lead us from the death of sin to newness of life. Bless this water that those who are washed in it may be made one with Christ in his death and resurrection, to be cleansed and delivered from all sin. Send your Holy Spirit on them that, renewed in your image, they may walk by the light of faith and continue for ever in life eternal. Amen

How deep the Fathers love for us, how vast beyond all measure, that he should give his only Son to make a wretch his treasure. How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turns his face away, as wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory. Behold the man upon the cross, my sin upon his shoulders; ashamed I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held him there until it was accomplished; his dying breath has brought me life I know that it is finished.
