LUBRICATION
The engine is l u b r i c a t e d by oil mixed with the fuel. Recommended fuel-oil ratio is 25:1, using regular gasoline and a reputable Heavy Duty SAE30 or SAE40 Motor Oil. The drive chain is enclosed and runs in an oil bath. Tip machine on right side and remove cover (CFig. 1). The chain case should contain about ^-pint of SAE 20 Motor Oil. Ski legs are equipped with pressure fittings and should be lubricated occasionally with Low T e m p e r a t u r e Grease. Track drive axles and bogie wheels are equipped with sealed bearings and do not require lubrication.

(rear) end. Tie rod must be installed in forward hole of both steering arms. Drag link attaches to rear hole of r i g h t steering arm. Shorten or lengthen drag link if necessary, until handle bar is in normal straight driving position with both skis pointing straight ahead. DRIVE CHAIN. The roller drive chain should have a minimum amount of slack but no tension. Adjustment can be measured by checking the backlash (AFig. 1) at pulley rim. Adjustment is correct when backlash (A) is approximately %-inch. Adjust by loosening the locknut and turning idler adjusting screw (B) until backlash is correct. BRAKE. A shoe-type brake is used as shown in Fig. 1. Brake is adjusted at cable housing anchor as shown in Fig. 2. Make sure brake does not drag when lever is released but is fully engaged before lever contacts handlebar grip.

TRACK. To adjust track tension, raise rear of vehicle until track is clear of ground. Refer to Fig. 3 and measure the distance (A-B) from lower edge of rear idler bearing housing to edge of frame. Distance should be 3% inches and equal on both sides. To adjust the track, loosen the two clamp bolts (1) and turn adjusting bolt (2) until tension is correct.

ADJUSTMENT
STEERING SKIS. Disconnect tie rod from left steering arm and adjust length of rod as necessary until skis are parallel when pointing straight ahead. Steering arms are interchangeable and both have two holes at free

Fi9. 2^To odiust the brake, loosen locknut ( A ) ond Him connector ( B ) .
