This exeicise is uesigneu to woik the playei's foui mallet inuepenuents thiough all majoi scales. It can be bioken up
by scale oi playeu all in iow. To challenge youiself stait on a scale othei that "C" anu continue thiough the ciicle of
fifths (pioviueu at bottom). The ciicle of fifths gives a musician a quick iefeience to a lot of infoimation about all 12
majoi scales. Each scale name (i.e. "C") is a fifth highei than the pievious scale name.
Repeat the exeicise at ALL Bynamic levels anu mix up the tempos. Stait out slow anu giauually get fastei while
changing the uynamic being focuseu on. Also use ciescenuos anu ueciescenuos eithei within each scale oi thiough
the entiie exeicise.
Nake suie the wiist is iotating allowing the stiiking mallet to iebounu the othei mallet in that hanu. A ielaxeu wiist
anu elbow aie the keys to success. Bo not play any fastei than you can play accuiately anu with a goou quality of sounu.
This exercise is designed to
be played with a metronome.
