The company's petrochemicals,refining, and oil and gas-related operations form the incore of its business, other divisions of the company include cloth, retail business and spec economic zone (SEZ) development. Reliance Retail has entered into the fresh foods market as Reliance Fresh. RIL is to invest US$1 billion over the next few years in its new aerospace division which will design, develop, manufacture, equipment and components, including airframe, engine, radars, avionics and accessories for military and civilian aircraft, helicopters, unmanned airborne vehicles and aerostolutions Ltd.[6]

Reliance Industry is the world's largest polyester producer and as a result one of the largest producers of polyester waste in the world. In order to deal with so much waste, they operate the largest polyester recycling centre that uses the polyester waste as a filling and stuffing. Their idea resulting in an award in 'Team Excellence'.[17]
