Notes: (1) Use E309 electrodes. (2) Connection shall be located to avoid interference with fired heater tubes and tube movement due to expansion. (3) For additions to existing fired heaters, fill void between NPS 2 pipe and refractory with 80 lb. insulating castable, or ceramic fiber insulation and a retainer. (4) High temperature thread lubricant shall be used for all threaded joints. (5) Connections must be located so as to be accessible from a ladder or permanent platform. (6) Appropriate gaskets shall be used on all flanged connections. (7) See EG 3-6-1.4, Figure 10 for continuation of sample line.
