Lesson Objectives

By the end of this, students should be able to: a. Develop a deeper understanding of the characters in the novel. b. To identify the characters in the novel. c. To explain the characters and their characteristics. d. To write a paragraph on one character. e. Produce a short essay to explain one character.

CONTENT TEACHING-LEARNING STRATEGY


Introduction of the characters Teacher shows sketches of the characters in the novel. Teacher asks students to guess the characters from the sketches. Teacher asks students to make a list of the character traits Teacher asks students to match the characters and their characteristics by completing a mind maps on the whiteboard Teacher provides students with a complete explanation of all the characters and their characteristics. Students are asked to choose one character. With the help of the notes given, students are to write on one character and his/her details. Teacher gives out worksheet text with blanks to be filled by the students using suitable answer. Teacher then asks the students to check their answers with the answers given by teacher. Teacher then gives a title for the students to write a composition on their favourite characters Teacher picks the students randomly for the chosen students to tell the class loudly their favourite character. Teacher gives positive reinforcement for students and summarises the lesson for the day.
