Puducherry, the 5th August 2008. NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by section 78 of the Registration Act, 1908 (Central Act 16 of 1908), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby makes the following further amendments to the table of fees prescribed in the Pondicherry Registration Rules, 1969 issued vide Revenue Departments Notification, dated 9th January 1969 and published in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 5, dated 9th January 1969, namely : [ 217 ]

I. In the table of fees prescribed to the Pondicherry Registration Rules, 1969, (1) the existing article 3 may be renumbered as clause (i) of that article and after clause (i) as so renumbered, the following clause shall be inserted, namely: (ii) Registration under sub-section (1) of section 70 (B).... an extra fee of Rs. 100.00; (2) In article 13, (a) in clause (1), for the words and figures Rs. 2.00 and Rs. 1.00, the words and figures Rs. 10.00 and Rs. 5.00 shall respectively be substituted; (b) In clause (2), (i) for the words and figures Rs. 4.00 and Rs. 1.50, the words and figures Rs. 15.00 and Rs. 5.00 shall respectively be substituted; and (ii) in the Note (2) thereunder, for the words and figures Rs. 2 and Rs. 4 the words and figures Rs. 5.00 and Rs. 7.00 shall respectively be substituted; and (c) after clause (2), the following clause shall be inserted, namely : (3) Search made through information storage devices like floppy disk, hard disk or compact disk or any other electronic media, in addition to the fee payable, a fixed fee of Rs.100.00; (3) In article 14, (a) For clause (1), the following clause shall be substituted, namely: (1) In English or in the language of the registration sub-district When such copies are made by copying machine, (i) for a copy of a page containing 300 words .... Rs. 2.00 per page subject to minimum of Rs. 5.00

(ii) for a copy of a page containing 500 words .... Rs. 4.00 per page subject to minimum of Rs. 5.00 ; (b) For clause (2) and the note thereunder, the following shall be substituted, namely : (2) In other cases, for every 100 words or part thereof Rs. 5.00. Note : In reckoning the number of words, every figure, initial or abbreviation shall count as a word; (c) after clause (2) as so amended, the following clauses shall be added, namely : (2-A) For granting of a copy of the map forming part of a registered document without the help of a Draughtsman or Surveyor by the Registering Officer Rs. 5.00. Note : Government Officers who may require to search the registers and to take copies of entries for bona fide public purposes shall be permitted to do so without payment of any fee. (2-B) For granting of a copy of document, from the information storage devices like floppy disk, hard disk or compact disk or any other electronic media for each page Rs.10.00.; and (d) In clause (4), for the figures and word 25 paise, the word and figures Rupees 5.00 shall be substituted ; (4) In article 15, for the figures and word 25 paise, the word and figures Rupees 5.00 shall be substituted ; (5) In c l a u s e ( 4 ) o f a r t i c l e 2 0 , f o r t h e f i g u r e s a n d w o r d 25 paise, the words and figures Rupees 5.00 shall be substituted; and (6) after article 20 as so amended, the following article shall be inserted, namely:

21. Notwithstanding anything contained in the table of fees, the minimum fee chargeable is Rupees 5.00 wherever such total fee prescribed is lesser than Rupees 5.00 and if the total fee is more than Rs. 5.00, it shall be rounded to next higher multiple of five rupees.
