If we choose to serve the Lord, it is not enough that we serve him, we should serve him with the right heart.

But in serving God, remember that He already loves us. He already sent his Son to die for our sins. We cant do anything to earn his love because it is already freely given. We make the mistake of applying worldly ideas about service to our service to the Lord. Were conditioned to think that when we serve, we get recognition. We expect to be appreciated. We expect something in return. Fight this temptation! Dont conform to this world (Romans 12:2). Because if we choose to serve the Lord, it is not enough that we should serve him, we should serve him with the right heart. He looks at the motive behind the things that we do. Not everyone who says they do things for the Lord will be vindicated if they dont have the right heart. (Matthew 7:21-23). II. Serve with the right thinking.

Its a common misconception that serving God is only for priests and layministers. Everyone should serve. Everyone is useful to the Lord. Atty. Gino Cuison

But when we serve, dont get arrogant! (Romans 12:3). Remember, it s not about getting recognition. But at the same time dont have false humility. Dont think that you cant serve the Lord because you arent able. All the Lord wants from us is our availability and willingness. If we want to serve Him, he will equip us for it. So dont worry about the conditions and consequences. In Gods economy, everyone is equipped to serve. III. Serve without comparing ourselves to one another.

3 principles to remember: 1. Serve because we love Him, not to earn his favour. 2. Serve with the right thinking. 3. Serve without comparing ourselves to one another. I. Serve because we love Him, not to earn his favour.

Everyone is called to serve in one way or another but not in the same way as everyone else. Were all part of one body in Christ with our own functions and importance. Were all given special gifts that are our own (Romans 12:5-8). So dont get discouraged. Find your niche; find what youre called to do base on the gifts that youve been given. The only way to find out your gift is by serving!

We often make the mistake of serving out of duty rather than love. We have to always be aware to have the right heart. Serve with a heart of gladness, not because you have to but because your love for the Lord moves you to.

Its easy to fall into the trap of being an uncommitted Christian. If your Christian life is limited to going to service for an hour every Sunday, then you only have a routine. In effect, we compartmentalize God to that hour of our week. Its only when theres a crisis, and our routine is shattered that we actually remember God any other day. Dont wait around for a crisis. Dont be an uncommitted Christian. Dont compartmentalize God in your life! Have a personal relationship with him and make prayer a part of daily life.
