The Bridge Modeler for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 enables users to create bridge models based on critical geometry in the Civil 3D corridor model and existing ground surface. Users can also create AutoCAD Civil 3D alignments and profiles from key bridge strings such as bottom of lowest girder or top of barrier. Finally, users can quickly transition bridge parameters created in the AutoCAD Civil 3D version of this Bridge Modeler into the Autodesk Revit Structure Bridge Modeling extension (REX) where additional modeling can be accomplished.
This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this extension. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply this extension to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

General Installation Information


As you prepare to install this extension, keep the following in mind:
This extension can be installed on any language version of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 on all supported operating systems, however the user interface and help is in English only. Be sure to install the correct extension for your software. Once installed, users can access the Bridge Modeler commands via the AutoCAD Civil 3D ribbon. Help can be accessed from within the Bridge Modeler user interface.

This extension creates a base group of AutoCAD Solids that represent a bridge. There is no change to the AutoCAD Civil 3D drawing format and these objects can be used in other applications.
Apply Service Packs Autodesk strongly encourages all AutoCAD Civil 3D users to download and apply service packs. This extension officially supports AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 any future services packs that Autodesk may release. Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUI, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this extension.

Administrative Privileges
During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this extension, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products. Reboot

After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted. Uninstall This extension can be uninstalled by selecting the applicable extension in Control Panel. All files and command access options including menus will be removed.

Add Productivity Tools to a Civil 3D deployment


1. Create a base deployment of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. This should be an out-of-the-box deployment with as little customization as
possible other than license information.

2. Under \AdminImage create a "ProductivityTools" folder 3. Copy the Bridge Modeler for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 to \AdminImage\ProductivityTools\Bridge 4. Right-click on the INI file located in the \AdminImage\ subfolder that shares the name with the newly created deployment
configuration 5. Scroll to the #==================== C3D LanguagePack section. Append the following to the POSTREQUISITE= line: Civil3D2013_Bridge. If there are other items in that line, you should add a semicolon after the last item and append the line above. 6. Scroll to the #==================== Common Main Pages: Install Mode section. Before this section copy and past in the following: #============= PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS ===============

7. Repeat steps 3-6 with any additional Productivity Tools specifying each one separately. 8. Save and close the modified INI file. 9. Install the deployment to test configuration.
