It is very strange to find such film where you can reflect much about your life, the truth that in reality prevails in this world, love and passage of time. No characters were given a name and throughout the film were mostly silence and few conversations but the beautiful scenery of nature is what simply made it remarkable. This had brought me to a meditation that I believe will truly guide me in terms of making decisions and courage to face what lies in my future. This is also a film where Buddhism was depicted but as a devout Catholic, it had inspired me a lot through realization of the wonders of life that God has given us. Life is what every people living have and the very important thing we hold on in this world. It is what defines our existence. We all have a dream about how our life would become someday and so we all worked hard to pursue what we long for. But mostly people do not bother to understand about living a life nor do they know the consequences of and are they ready to face it? I have viewed the apprentices life since his early childhood until he had reached adulthood where many things in his life and in reality were revealed. First, is being a disciple. We all are disciples or learners throughout our journey of development. In the film, discipleship was shown by being a good follower and by living a life in accordance to the will of the master. The master, on the other hand despite of his disciples flaws, he whole-heartedly forgave the transgressions of the young one. The same as our God, the Father who, despite of our sinfulness, He will never abandon us because He loves us eternally. Second, is the presence of temptations. The teenage apprentice in the story finds himself complying into his attraction and somehow have his desires transformed into possession in which paved the way of committing a dreadful sin which is murder. Our world is a place where sinners reside and where temptations existence cannot be avoided but, it is our own decision if we will give in to it and commit sin. Third, is the consequences brought about by our sin. No one will ever felt happiness and freedom when they know that inside their heart lays a very big hole of pain and regret. The same thing happened when the main character, unforgiving of his sin led him to a decision to commit suicide. Lastly, the perception that had mostly strike me and what summarized my insight is that, Life is like a Circle. There is also a saying that goes, someday if we travel in opposite directions on the circle, we will meet again. Like the title, that is represented by seasons defines that it goes over and over again just like a circle with no end. There are times when our leaves were abundantly grown, withered, totally shrivelled wherein hopes too were covered with thick snow, and then finally found our leaves growing abundantly again. We cannot always stay on top but since it revolves, we have no other choice but to experience failure and mistakes. After all, we can never know ourselves and try something new if we have never failed in our entire lives. Life is truly a circle. We can all take our paths differently but still, we will all meet again in one place by means of one powerful person, who is God. He is the only answer in everything we have now may it be a success, a blessing, failure or problems. He made that all in one just to remind us that we are not alone. He will never give us challenges in which we cannot overcome and in everything, I believe we can all surpass because there was never a time that he had taken His eyes away from us. Sins and temptations may also lie in the circle but Gods greatness, grace and love will always triumph over it.
