08 Gods Sanctuary- Salvation Chart (Red letters do not record)

What is the sanctuary? You are about to learn, at least in brief, the breadth and depth of the Bible. What you will see next will be like putting on goggles to see clearly underwater. The Sanctuary, the model of the plan of God, is Gods timetable of activities, the chart for the salvation of man. What is the sanctuary, and why is it important? Do you remember the movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark? Well, that ark, with the two angels (cherubim) on the mercy seat opposite each other, is Gods ark for the Covenant of Alliance. Next to them, there is a lampstand with seven lamp holders, then theres the table, the altar for the burning of incense, the curtains that separate the ark from the other objects, and other curtains that divide the area into two compartments: The Sanctuary or Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. These curtains were made of very fine linen and of specific design, with angels embroidered in silver and gold thread. These, along with many other items, would be Gods implements for the Plan of Salvation of humanity, salvation from judgment and the verdict of a conflict, which started in heaven. What few of us are aware of is that, inside of the ark, lie the Ten Commandments, the manna, and Aarons rod, which are very important details for the application of the sanctuary; details that you may learn more about in the "Gods Covenant" topic of the general index. The sanctuary was made from the finest objects and metals; you will find a description in Exodus chapter 25 and onward, and its associated rituals are described in the books of Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The implements, laws, and rituals together would make up the structure that would teach the world of the conflict, the judgment, and the commitment of God, and the price of salvation. All placed in orderly fashion here in the sanctuary. Only through all of these is everything revealed; the Plan for Salvation, all biblical doctrines, the prophecies, and the timetable of God. Exodus 25:8: 8And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them." The Sanctuary also reflects Gods love. As this verse explains, God never washes His hands of the human sufferings in this world. The presence of God living among His people is to show us His support in this conflict. In spite of the fact that man separated himself from God by sinning, the Sanctuary would instruct us how to get back together with Him, what it would take for us to be reconciled. When Adam and Eve sinned, a lamb was sacrificed so that their nakedness would be covered. That first lamb represented the institution of ceremonial law, which the process for redemption describes. Adam and Eve transgressed the law of Heaven, and to acquit them, the ceremonial law with the institution of the Sanctuary is necessary. The rituals and other details will be summarized thus: Offerings and Sacrifices According to Exodus 29 and Numbers 28, the following was to be offered daily as sacrifice for sin: 2 lambs one year old without defects, one at 9:00 AM and the other at 3:00 PM, Loaves of bread made of flour following specific procedures, soaked in olive oil. Drink offerings or very fine wine was poured out in the Holy Place Only the priests were permitted to enter the Holy Place in the Sanctuary, and only the High Priest was allowed to go into the Most Holy Place, once a year. Only the Levites could touch the Sanctuarys implements. This entire procedure was called the continuous burnt offering. Other very similar offerings were carried out with the same specific procedures every Saturday, on a monthly basis, and on special holidays such as: The New Moon, the Passover, The Day of Unleavened Bread, The Pentecost, The Day of the Trumpets, The Day of Atonement and The Festival of Tabernacles. In all these, lambs were sacrificed. The procedure done to a lamb, that could not have any defect, spot, or blemish is as follows: 1- Confession of sins was made over the lamb 2- then the sacrificing of the lamb was done on the Altar at the entrance to the Sanctuary. 3- the lambs innards, fat, meat, and offal were burned, some on the altar in front of the sanctuary and other parts on another altar outside the camp. 4- the blood was continuously sprinkled on the altar, the sanctuary was entered, where the beautiful gold and silver threaded curtain were, and the Holy Place was also splashed seven

times with the blood of the sacrificed lamb. This was the procedure done daily to each lamb for the Continuous burnt offering, together with the other sacrifices done at any time of the day for the washing of sins or as sacred offerings, each with its own procedure, as required by God for the forgiveness of sins. Atonement Day But once a year, on the Atonement Day Festival", a variation was made in the procedure. According to Leviticus 16, the procedure consisted of sacrificing two young goats as a sin offering, and one ram as a burnt offering. Lev 16:6-10: "And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house. 7And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 8And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. 9And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORDS lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. 10But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness". This day was very special in the ritual because it accomplished two important tasks; the cleaning of the Sanctuary, and the washing away of sins committed throughout the year by the people of Israel. So one young goat represented the LORD, the other, which is how they came up with the term scapegoat represented Satan or Azazel as he is known in Hebrew. This time the high priest did not remain in the Holy Place, but continued inward to the Most Holy Place. Leviticus 16:15-16: Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: 16And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness. So once a year two very important jobs, the cleaning of the Sanctuary and the washing of the sins committed by the people of Israel, were carried out on the Day of Atonement. The curtains, which were stained by 365 days of bloodsplashing, were withdrawn. And if a sin was committed on that same day or even hours or minutes within the time of purifiying the sanctuary and all its implements, this whole painful procedure had to be performed once again. Application of the sanctuary This whole ritual was offered to God and followed step by step as He thus instructed Moses. But what was the reason for this? Why the blood-spilling? What is it that God wanted man to learn through this? All the definitions of what the Sanctuary and its implements symbolized are in the New Testament, especially in the book of Hebrews, where earthly Sanctuary is described as a shadow of what God wanted to convey to man. Hebrews 8: 5: "Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount". The Sanctuary and its implements as a whole are symbolic. These symbolize and model the prototype of Heaven and of Jesus Christ. These implements included: The bread, the lamps, the oil, the lamb, the blood, the sacrifices, the angels on the ark and on the curtains, the presence of God and of the high Priest. In Heavens Sanctuary, Jesus Christ represents all of these: The bread: John 6: 35: And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst". The lamps: John 8: 12: I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life". The sacrificial lamb: John 1: 29: Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world". Its blood: Mark 14: 24: This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many". The high Priest: Hebrew 8:1: "We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens".

The oil and the lamps are also symbols of the Holy Ghost: Revelations 4: 5: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God". The sanctuary itself, the cherubim and the other things of the Sanctuary, indicate Heavens participation in the conflict; the law on which the Covenant has been established and will be used to judge sinners. In the real sanctuary, in Heaven, the Holy Ghost, the angels, the throne of God, and the ten commandments, the immutable law of God, which is the seal of his government, are all in the presence of God. In this sanctuary, there is no lampstand, no bread, no lambs, no stone tablets; everything that Moses built here on Earth was intended to give us a glimpse of what was in Heaven; not that these things were there physically, but rather Who they symbolized and represented here on Earth. The true sacrifice and price of redemption: Jesus. Prototype of Jesus This whole model took living form in the person of Jesus. The Sanctuary had always told us in what manner He who substituted for us would die. Isaiah 53: 3-9: "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth". God created the world for man, adorning it with nature and filling it with life. The universe lived in peace with the laws of Gods government, the law of freedom, according to James 2:12. All these things, including life, were rejected when man disobeyed God and broke His law. Man chose to die; misfortune took over the world created by God when man fell into disobedience. However, a substitute for man was sacrificed instead. Ceremonial law was now a necessity, and was fulfilled by Jesus, who was nailed to the cross along with all those ceremonies and rituals. We cannot do away with Heavens laws by nailing them to the cross, because they are the foundation for Gods kingdom. On the Day of Atonement, the Sanctuary also shows the judgment of Satan. Remember that on this day, the Day of Atonement, a festival was held, where it was a requirement to afflict oneself or to worry. To worry because, if the people were going to be forgiven, they had to accept that the male goat, representing Jesus, be sacrificed to suffer for their sins. Not following this procedure, or not reflecting on its meaning, meant that you would have to pay for your own sins personally, instead of permitting Jesus to do it for you. It was like telling God that you did not want His favor and forgiveness. This is how Leviticus describes it in Chapter 23: 28-29: " And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. 29For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people". This is what has been in effect since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden; from the year 4004 BC until today, 2000 years after His first arrival. If an Israelite did not confess his sins, he would die. And today, the true Priest is interceding, while you decide for Him, so that you do not die. Jesus knows that Satan tries to seduce you with this worlds passing charms. Satan has also instituted false churches which are very good at imitating what the Bible says, but that would increase your distance from God. Religious ways that appear pious but are ineffective, and faith without works. Entering the Holy Place daily symbolizes Jesus constant intercession in our favor. Atonement and judgment

On the Day of Atonement, which took place once a year, the entrance to the Most Holy Place reveals to us the trial that God will perform. All transgressions of the repented sinner will be erased from the record of sins, and all those who have surrendered to the world will be condemned, for they have chosen to pay the price themselves. Jesus in Heaven has already passed from the Holy Place to the Most Holy Place; this is to say that judgment has already been initiated. The prophecy made in Daniel 8 and 9 indicates that Jesus, while in Heavens sanctuary, is completing the task of wiping sin from the universe. This indicates that we are living the days of the last and final reconciliation with God. Just as in Moses sanctuary, when the high Priest would leave, the sinner no longer had an opportunity; in our days, when Gods time of grace ends, there will be no more chances to repent. Sentencing for all sinners will be carried out, and many already know that that means the 7 plagues stated in the book of Revelation. At this moment, Gods angels are recording in great detail all the kind deeds done in your life, all efforts you have made to abandon sin, all opportunities you have had to accept Gods plan but didn't do so, and all of your sins, in the book of life in Heaven. The time to accept Jesus as your personal Savior is... now! Today! We do not know when Jesus will suddenly stop interceding for sinners. But He wants to forgive you your sins! He is waiting for you, and this is why He has not returned yet! Isaiah 43: 25 "I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins". This time limit is already taken into account in other passages aside from the Sanctuary. Psalms 32: 6: "For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him" Isaiah 55: 6: "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near". God has offered forgiveness, and only you can decide whether to accept it and leave your life of sin. Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur, and in the final judgment, evil will finally be eradicated from the universe by forgiving those who accepted Gods Covenant and by finishing off the impious. This sentence is symbolized in the rite performed on the Day of Atonement, which consisted of the choosing of a live male goat (which represented Satan, or Azazel as in Hebrew) over whose head the people of Israel confessed all their sins; it was then taken still alive to a place in the wilderness, where it would be abandoned to its own fate. Leviticus 16:22: "And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness". Satan will be forever destroyed for being the agent of all types of iniquity, together with his devils and demons and all those who preferred cruelty and injustice. See Revelation 20: 1-10 The ritual in the Sanctuary clearly defines what will happen during the thousand-years, which is symbolized by the male goat abandoned in the wilderness, the thousand years that Satan will remain observing the disaster caused by his rebellion. After that, he will be thrown into the lake of fire. No more Sanctuary! This is the price and the whole meaning of the Sanctuary rituals. God gave his Son in order to rescue you from eternal death. This is what the Sanctuary rituals symbolized in their time: the conflict, the Day of Judgment, Gods commitment, and the price paid for the salvation of man. Now in the 21st century, an earthly Sanctuary is no longer needed, as indicated by Jesus, Who already came and is doing the work for Judgment Day. If we were to institute the sanctuary and these holy rites today, they would be an abomination in the presence of God, because it would show Him that we did not understand His message. There are several churches that have not understood this message and preach the Sanctuary methods, performing all its rituals in their place of worship, to this day! Psalms 50:13-15: "Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? 14Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: 15And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me". Micah 6: 6-8: 6Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 7Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? No other plan for the salvation of man exists! The name of Jesus Christ is the only plan that has been given to us for our salvation! Jesus is the only way to enter Gods Sanctuary. He is the

true Lamb. The true Shepherd! This is the message from the God of Abraham. Jesus is the only One in history who can take upon Himself the entire burden for the calamity of man. It is of no avail to pray and to worship idols created by man, for they are a deviation from Gods divine purpose for us. John 14: 6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Biblical quotes: King James Version.
