Thanks to all for the Blue Jean Clean-up

Thanks to all who helped on the 9th - much was cleared out and straightened up! The rooms in the church basement, the attic storage space, and the Little Free Library all got a good first clearing out... Ron Johnson is our official Point Man - and he and Mother Martha have scheduled a Blue Jean Sunday for each summer months:

Yoga Class Saturdays, 10-11 am Undercroft Alcoholics Anonymous Open Meeting 2nd Saturdays, 7 pm Undercroft AA, Regular Meeting Tuesdays, 7 pm, Undercroft

and 2 Grant Applications going into the diocese

The red carpet running down the center aisle has many wrinkles, a fall hazard for any of us. We have found out that it cannot be stretched. It will need to be replaced for a cost of $1,600. In two months, you will see painters scraping and painting the exterior of the church, for a cost of $3,605.

CDI: Church Development Institute New Class to Begin on November 16th

Church Development Institute is the program for clergy and lay leaders who desire to make their congregations stronger, healthier, more deeply rooted in our tradition, more responsive to God, and more effective in their communities. The weekdays for CDI have been changed to Saturday/ Sunday so that those who have a fixed M-F work week can attend. Here are the weekend dates for the new class November 16 - 17th, 2013 February 8 - 9th, 2014 April 5 - 6th, 2014 May 17 - 18th, 2014 If you would like more information about CDI, follow this link to our diocesan website. Parish teams are limited to 4 people.

Bids are coming in for a rehab of the narthex, including the entryway glass. As soon as all the information is gathered, the Bishops Committee will review the costs and determine how this necessary work can be funded. GRANTS We are submitting 2 grant applications to the Diocese: One is for an information kiosk on wheels (so it can be moved to where it is needed) and for welcome packets. Another is for assistance with the work in the narthex. Both of these will be submitted to enhance fellowship at St. Francis - with a welcoming, inviting first impression and a better area for gathering and communicating.
