PROJECTS
M.Tech. Thesis Report

Design of SUV for Low Aerodynamic Drag & Minimum Crash Injuries under Front Collision: This thesis corresponds to the CFD simulation on the SUV for the

analysis & reduction of drag & lift coefficients with pressure & velocity distribution on the body & frontal crash analysis to determine the minimum crash injury in the frame of SUV at 100kmph simultaneously in Ansys LS DYNA. The blue prints of generic SUV were cropped from Internet and then it was modeled in Solidworks, thereafter imported into the Ansys Fluent via Ansys Workbench after incorporating a wind tunnel environment. The Drag coefficient evaluated is 0.38. The graphs of drag coefficients, lift coefficients were plotted. The contours of pressure distribution, velocity distribution, air vortex with vectors are also plotted. The energy & deformation diagram were plotted for the frontal Crash analysis for the complete simulation & design of generic SUV.

Academic Projects: Project Name: Software used: Analysis of leaf spring suspension system. (BE-semVIII) CATIA & ANSyS

Description:

This project deals with the analysis of the leaf spring type suspension system of Eicher 10.90 vehicle. This project is done to identify the failure phenomenon of the leaf spring type of fixed suspension system for front axles containing 7 leaves. The modeling of the leaf spring was done in CATIA(solid modeling, assembly and Kinematics) and its analysis was conducted in ANSYS, it was also analyzed in ProMechanica and finally the result was verified with the initial data that collected from the Internet. The analytical result provided by ANSyS were quite closer to that of the result which we got by internet. This was done in a team of 3. Synchromesh Gear Box. (BE-semVII) CATIA This project deals with the design and the development of the Synchromesh gear box of Maruti Suzuki 800 with 4 forward and 1 reverse gear. The prime objective of this project is to learn about the gear changing and synchromesh mechanism inside the gear box which makes it to changes the gear without ant axial thrust. It was developed by the solid modeling tool of the CATIA. Every part was geometrically modeled and then assembled. Finally DMU Kinematics was used to measure its simulation and its kinematic motion. A small analysis was also carried out in order to calculate the torque and power for the developed gear train. This was done in a team of 3.
