Structural Design Drafter (Corona, CA)


Key Accountabilities will Include: Site Assessment: Visit client site for the purpose of collecting information to prepare estimates, layout design, verifying/clarifying condition and other purposes as project dictates. Helping to Oversee and coordinate the manufacturing and field construction effort to ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with the contract, project execution plans, approved design, permits, local jurisdictional requirements, budget, schedule and the client's satisfaction. Updating and maintaining project drawing schedule. A summary of drawing schedule to be provided to Management on a weekly basis Maintain and update project drawings as required. Preparing general arrangement, manufacturing and installation drawings. Must be able to perform take-offs on client supplied drawings, submit to vendors for pricing and prepare estimates Performing quality control checks on items ordered and fabricated. Provide ongoing communication via weekly reports. Designing, drafting and project engineering as required in AutoCAD 2011 Planning and coordinating the overall engineering and equipment procurement efforts Coordinating the development and approval of all projects specific design documents i.e. calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment and instrument lists. Coordinating all required design reviews, validations and developing test protocols. Coordinating the performance and approval of technical bid evaluations and approval of vendor data, as required Maintaining a current drawing schedule and register and transmitting all required design and vendor data to the field, as well as other agencies and the Client, as required Creating policy, procedures and protocol for design drawings and performing quality control standards in the Engineering Department. Interfacing with field personnel with regard to design/engineering matters Issuing Design Change Notices (DCN) and approving Field Change/Clarification Requests (FCCR). Reporting by writing or presenting regular progress reports for review Interfacing with customers and suppliers and Safety team members as needed Strong problem-solving skills Candidate must have an Associate's degree preferably in Structural, Engineering and or drafting. Minimum 5 to 10 years experience required. Strong communication and project management skills. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel and Microsoft Project software An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles
