T: Whats interesting in your city? N: There are a lot of places which tourists like to visit. But I like the CN Tower. It is one of the tallest free-standing buildings in the world. T: Really? Do you know its history? N: Yes, of course. It was completed in 1976 and it is used for TV and radio broadcasting. Its design is beautiful. T: Whats its height? What do you want to ask about Mexico? K: What can you recommend to see there? D: It is a magnificent city. There are a lot of interesting places there. First of all you should visit the National Museum, and then you should go to the Palace of Fine Arts. K: What else? D: I think you should visit the Pyramid of the Sun. Its ancient and unique. K: And what about the weather? When is it better to visit Mexico? D: It is beautiful in all the seasons.

3. What building is it?

It is a unique building with several white sail-shaped shells as its roof. Architects from some 30 countries took part in the international competition for a design of the building in 1956. In January 1957 Danish architect Jorn Utzon was announced the winner. Construction began in 1959. Now it is the best-known landmark. It is a multipurpose facility with the 2,679seat Hall. There are also three theatres of different sizes and configurations for stage plays, film screenings, and smaller musical performances. The building also houses restaurants and a professional recording studio. In 2007 this building was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

was opened to the public in 1759. At first it was famous for its natural history collection and its vast library of books. The collection of books and manuscripts has become the British Library. The British Museum is a treasure house of old, interesting and magnificent objects collected all over the world. 2. The National Air and Space Museum is located in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1946 under the name National Air Museum. The first major artifact added to the museums collection was the biplane used for the Wright brothers first successful flight in 1903. In 1966 the museum began collecting items about space. It has the Apollo 11 command module, a lot photos and a sample of lunar rock.

3. The Prado Museum is a Spanish art museum in Madrid. It houses the worlds richest and most comprehensive collection of Spanish paintings, masterpieces of other schools of European painting, especially Italian and Flemish art. The Prados building had its start in 1785 and was completed in 1819. The Prado contains the most complete collections in the world of the works of El Greco, Velzquez, and Francisco de Goya. In 1981 Pablo Picassos Guernica (1937) was added to the Prados collection. 4. The Louvre Museum is a national museum and art gallery of France. The idea of using the Louvre as a public museum originated in the 18th century. The Louvre building complex underwent a major remodeling in the 1980s and 90s in order to make the old museum more accessible to its visitors.
