Final Drive Unit


Used in Rear Wheel Drive and 4 Wheel Drive Vehicles with independent front/rear suspensions to change the direction of power flow from the propshaft to the sideshafts. The FDU contains an open differential or any of GKN Drivelines Torque Management Devices.

Power Transfer Unit


Used in a primary Front Wheel Drive based vehicles with transverse engine mounts. Its primary function is to change the direction of power flow to the rear propshaft. The PTU may contain a centre differential and/or a Torque Management device. Available in either a geared or chain transfer case design, GKN Driveline's PTUs are compact, lightweight, have excellent NVH characteristics. This makes them a popular choice in a large range of applications.
